North Balti Zen
Congrats to all my Washington fan peeps. Trust me , as a long-suffering bengals fan who had a similar bolt of football genius arrive with Burrow and the breakthrough year of 2021 when they ended a 31-year playoff win drought and then made a run to the Super Bowl, I get it. Really really happy for you guys. This falls under iykyk territory among fan bases. And I know. Savor every good feeling.
Jebman
We thought we were being treated to a rare mild winter in south central Texas. No dice. It is colder than expected. Already 28/10 with north gusts to 43 mph. Just got handed a local Winter Storm Watch. Down here a couple inches is a winter storm. Heavy snow and sleet are expected Mon night and Tuesday morning. We are going to lose the fig tree. This stuff could start as freezing drizzle and even some light freezing rain. That is really BAD juju for the overpasses down here! It was SUPPOSED to stay well east. I jinxed us. I been laughing at people falling on ice on YouTube. Now, it is gonnabe my effing turn. I am not up to this anymore. Climate change don't care. I got a REALLY, REALLY BAD FEELING ABOUT THIS. It was supposed to be not as cold, and bad snow and ice in New Orleans. Naaaaah. Sure enough Austin has to have some too. It's going to be BAD down here. DC is next. Reports of Winter is over were waaaaaaay premature.

aldie 22
Man my NFC North was a bunch of frauds this year. Congrats commanders I'll never root for a Washington or Baltimore team but I'm definitely impressed with Jaden Daniels you guys have a great one there.

Scarlet Pimpernel
Congrats Commanders/WTFs, from a lowly (very lowly!) Cleveland fan! Browns sucked this year so I haven't paid much attention, but I'm glad the playoffs have shaken things up a bit. Now, can we please knock KC out of it? I really don't care to have them in another SB! I would think they would be better matched with the Rams, with the Eagles being tougher. But then again, they dropped 45 on the (admittedly somewhat defenseless) Lions so you never know in a playoff game!

They are like Joe Camel and give you $25 free or something like that. Anyway, I lost interest real quick but went in the app yesterday just to see the odds for a Washington Super Bowl win. I had the free money still there so put $20 on winning it all at 25:1. They’re now down to 6:1. Go Commodes!!!

At halftime my better half and I didn’t even want to mention the possibility of winning out of fear to jinx it. Hell, those of us who’ve been lifetime fans were panicking last night when they didn’t get the field goal at the end, we needed that additional score to feel safe. We’ve been jaded for so long. I'm not a big fan of legalized gambling but if they're gonna allow it I'm gonna take advantage. If you are good with math and know enough there are some parleys you can make that are like taking candy from a baby and win like 70% of the time. The best is when you find an inequity that allows you the hedge both sides and win almost no matter who wins by parleying some really obvious things each team needs in order to possibly win the game. Bet both sides and as long as those things hit you win no matter wo wins!
psuhoffman
The panic in the obs thread is funny... LP08
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. I think the radar looks good for the up upcoming 12-6 time period for snow. Yes we are a degree or two warmer but this has always been a 2-4” storm for most outside the M/D line folks. 1

So like...you can say with 100% certainty that the temperature spike last night would've only been to 37 degrees and not 40? I don't know man I guess for each example that happens now I'd like to see an identical setup that snowed and what the temp is...and I know you've provided many other examples from the past tho. I guess it just feels like a bit of a "blame every last meteorological event on warming" thing, even if it is generally true.

Kmlwx
@Maestrobjwa - Posting here just some additional thoughts. Didn't want to clog the main thread up. You've definitely come a long way since you joined us on the forums! You just have to remember - unlike getting a Christmas or birthday gift that sucks (where maybe you deserved better) - the weather and climate doesn't "owe" you anything. Literally not a penny, not a single snowflake. You flip a coin 10 times and you might easily get heads 8 times. You flip that coin a trillion times, and it's going to be closer to 50/50. But yeah - unfortunately, our location (perhaps worse for you) is in an urban corridor. The odds of us getting shellacked are lower now than in the 1800s for sure. But now we have UHI, etc. I know we throw around the "you'll just have to move" idea a lot jokingly (and sometimes seriously) on the forums - but unfortunately...if your well being is fused this closely to snow - you really will have no choice but to move to a place like Davis, WV! Just remember - weather doesn't pay out like a slot machine that is "due" pays out. It's truly chaotic and "random"
