Can clearly see developing radar echos on the Illinois side too from LOTs radar. Now we wait to see where the main plume develops and sits!

homedis
Got a quick hit from a lake effect snow shower and it quickly dusted the area. Hope to get at least a few inches from the next 24 hours to whiten the area!
Radtechwxman
Been stuck in a subsidence band a while. Probably not going to get any meaningful rates till band pivots back around. What a disappointing winter storm.

CIllinoisSnow
Looks like I will end up with just under a half inch at best here in Southern Ford Co from this after the 3-5” forecast was looking pretty solid early this morning. Very disappointing but after the past two bad winters I try not to let anything phase me anymore haha The biggest thing is that it looks dry after this for a good bit which isn’t ideal. Onto the next.

Would think it’d favor that area of convergence but
nwohweather
Looks like 5-7” across most of Southern IN/OH. Watching radar returns throughout the day it looks like the warm surge was a little more northwards than anticipated. Still, the storm lived up to the hype
tuanis
Snowing good out there rn, but this thing’s definitely swinging north of the cheddar curtain for awhile. I’ll pick up an inch easy before it clears, though.
TheNiño
Under a good band here right now. Small flakes but pretty heavy. Roads covered now. Tough to forecast these LES events but so far they seem pretty spot on.
Chicago Storm
For the LES snow in N Illinois and SE Wisconsin, the surface convergence is actually east of where some guidance had it. However, the flow just off the surface (925mb/850mb) is hard NE, which is driving things westward.
Jackstraw
Got 2 here so far. Keep getting some bands drift through with +SN for 15 min then -SN prisms in between. Dry slot should stay south but then the only hope of reaching warning criteria is going to be some Defo coming through 3 - 9 hours from now me thinks. If I can get 3 more that'll give me 10 or so so far. That will equal my totals of each of the last 2 years. Seems I only have heart attacks when I get less than a foot of snow per winter so here's to another pitiful 3 inch storm after this one! lol. TheNiño
Comparison to my last picture. Been under the bands nothing super impressive but I’m still in heaven and grateful to have anything at all. The ultimate thread the needle finally being on the west side of the lake has been beneficial.

Radtechwxman
I didn't even get an inch. Our RH was in low 70s even after snow started. Dry air really won out here. Kept getting in subsidence bands as well. Cutoff was brutal as advertised. And next one looks to miss as well. Not our winter up here.
nvck
I can't believe we've had a Winter Storm across multiple states, bringing close to a foot of snow in some places, and everyone is either talking about lake effect, or complaining about their snow

skiier04
Was a bit of a disappointment down here too, blowing around a bit but looks like around 5" after a forecast of 8-12 Still a fun one to track, grateful for a nice event in my first winter here! Hopefully we can all cash in a couple more times this winter!
KeenerWx
Picked up a landscape refresher of 1.6”. Rather content with that as I was expecting nothing at all. Trends in the hi-res models are favoring Lake County, IN for LES later but hope our Chicago peeps can still cash in. Might get some mood flakes down here.
