This 'event' got a mention in the latest AFD from Mount Holly-

On Friday, an upper trough with strong shortwave energy approaches from the west. Weak low pressure develops at the base of the trough over the southern Appalachians and dives into the Mid-Atlantic late Friday. Some snow may develop over Delmarva and extreme southeast New Jersey, but QPF looks to be light, so not expecting much in the way of accumulation. Cold air will be locked in place over the region with highs in the 20s and 30s.

This lost a little steam overnight. Let’s see if we can regain our .5” means today. Just want a real snow shower.

I don't hate the steep low/mid-level lapse rates and non-zero CAPE for Friday afternoon on the 12z 3kmNAM and FV3. Good conditions for some locally intense snow showers/squalls.

Agree - the models are bringing this disturbance through as snow showers and squalls. Hopefully widespread. RGEM shows maybe a best-case scenario.

Still looks like a good Friday night with some Uncle Nearest and snow tv. I'll take it. Thanks for keeping it alive. (It's totally you. You control this event completely. Science. )

Fantasy range 18z HRRR has a healthy precip shield developing over the region at the end of its run. Will be interesting to see if trends continue and we can turn this into a solid precursor event for many

.

can you show snow totals just because?
