Light dusting of snow at my house in Dutchess County. Very surprised since most were saying the dry air would eat up and precipitation.

.

Yeah well it was well juiced coming this way,dry air couldnt dry everything out obviously. Also slight north jog helped a bit.

Anyone in the LHV seeing any pavement impacts with that little steadier burst that moved through?

In a bit of a lull now with very light, fine, pixie dust flakes falling, but radar looks nice approaching us from the SW, so should pick up soon.  We're up to 0.4" as of 10:50 am (2 hrs) and it's still 26F.  And brining works by the way for light snows like this: the street we live on, which was brined, is just wet, but the street that feeds into it is 100% snow covered.

As of noon, we're up to 0.8" as that last ~40 minutes was pretty good snowfall, but we're back to very light snow. Could maybe squeeze out another 0.2" to get to 1", but not sure. Still gorgeous, though, as per the pic, which also shows the two roads I mentioned above, one brined and one not.

Whoda thunk? Not me but here it is. This is legit moderate+ snow now.

I think this is the surprise of the day - that northern band well up into Rockland and Westchester and even a bit beyond.  Otherwise I think this all went as planned.  I was going with flurries to 1/2" for my location and so far I'm sitting just over .10" with ongoing flurries.  Totals further south also as forecast for the most part.

Let's give this guy some obs from the Hudson Valley.

Sorry, bust day at work. It was steady light snow for a few hours but has stopped as of right now. Untreated roads/sidewalks are slick and there are numerous accidents reported throughout Orange County. I did have time to report that on mPING earlier, keep that resource in mind as it can be useful. Stay safe out there.
