Jan 21, 2014 : 11 inches of snowfall. 2000-01 was a low key good winter. Too bad March 2001 ended it on such a bad note, otherwise it would have been one of our all time best winters.

We actually had one of our coldest Februaries that month around 24° in NYC. So the record cold is much less extensive this time around with the core going to our south and west again. More narrowly focused Arctic outbreaks covering smaller geographic regions has become the new normal. Just like we were much colder during past instances then when Texas got record cold compared to February 2021. You're thinking of the November 15, 2018 storm of 6.4 inches which is on the list at No. 162. The April 2, 2018 storm they measured 5.5 in the Park, the same at LGA, JFK was less 3.7.

March 1993 would have been 20" + with a benchmark track. Newark got 17" in that one if I remember correctly and the 10" line got all the way out to Oceanside (JFK had 12".)

Then a flip to rain before a changeover back to snow with 3" on top. It was like cement that didn't melt for a week If it was all snow 24-28" would've been likely as they got 2.75" of liquid 1

There have been numerous March storms with 10+ surrounding the park since 1993, and they've come within 1.5-2.5 inches 3 times in the last 10 years.
