Those who poo poo cold air in winter without snow need to move south if its uncomfortable for them.

Those who poo poo cold air in winter I got just the place for ya - We average 66 in Jan with lows in the mid 40s. Some winters we don't even have frost :)

Look, I know this is absolutely crazy coming from The Jebman --- But I love this place so much! They had to drag me kickin' and screamin' all the way down here - But now I love it with all my heart! 7 month long summers are Da Bomb!

That's perfect weather for them, But not for a Jeb walk......;)

Well that's why you guys live in the NNE - You get 39 inch snows without breakin a sweat! That's excellent jebwalking weather!

Wishin' you all a white festive Christmas!

Thinking a 3-6” event in this area for Xmas Eve.  We’ll see, not completely sold.  North of the track will do the best.

Its still early enough for decent changes.

I always said I’d never get sick of the cold but I have to admit at 50yo now you can feel it creeping up on you a little more. Always hunting a good snowstorm, but very little use for just sustained cold without a good storm. Warmer weather is just easier, but I also hate the heat for too long That’s why I could never live in the deep south and go through stretches of heat where it’s just a hopeless feeling that you’ll never get cooler weather. Months on end.

I often think about the perfect climate, maybe it would be something in an area like southern Colorado where you get a good amount of snowstorms, but very changeable weather and plenty of sun, no humidity and some warmth. The summers are hot, but not too bad and you get plenty of snow in the winter, but not the deepest of cold. Maybe a place like Telluride, Colorado .

One thing about the cold in the Northeast is it just bites more. My son has been in college at Montana State in Bozeman and although they get some very deep cold out there, the dry conditions and the generally sunny weather often just makes it feel a lot better. New England cold with some humidity in the air and wind, it just stings more. He’s back from school this week and said the last few days just feel colder to him than anything he’s experienced out there even when it’s been well below zero.

I lived in S Texas in the late 70s and couldn't get out of there fast enough.  Yes, palm and citrus trees, and watermelon fields dotted with oil & gas pumps.  But the searing heat from May to September, and 70s-80s thru the winter is enough to bore a wx enthusiast to tears.  10 day forecasts are on repeat all summer - sunny, upper 90s, low 80s at night - and walking out the door in summer is a blast furnace assault to exposed skin.  Not to mention the hostility of goat-heads in yards that shred your pets paws to hamburger and nestle in your socks to gore you unexpectedly at some future slight movement.  Fleas that thrive in the grass year round, along with scorpions and tarantulas.  That said, I get ya - and to each their own, both my sisters still live there after all these years and love it.   Plus, there's Whataburger...

Merry Christmas!

Thing is so damn moisture starved. Sucks if it had any kind of juice we could squeeze out something over a coating. Don’t worry we’ll have a JUICED HVR coming soon!!

That we can bank on. Or a perfect track rainer.

But, for the purposes of this Christmas, just getting some flakes region wide that makes it feel festive will do.

I’m not old by any stretch, but I’ve learned to not take these holiday seasons for granted. My dad who loved snow happened to be here back in 2021 when we had a white Christmas. Must’ve been his first one in about 20 years iirc. He was gone a few days later. A wintry landscape during the holidays will always hold a special meaning for me.
