Region Wide Christmas Eve Clipper Potential

There’s been a varying signal for some system to move into New England around Christmas for several days. The signal is better defined inside 84 hours now, with a clipper now likely to cross the region Christmas Eve rather than Christmas.

The trend has been a slightly sharper system, with the possibility of region wide light snow. The best qpf looks focused in CNE and NNE.

With an excellent antecedent airmass (Euro colder than GFS) and a little moisture, many could see measurable snow right before the Christmas holiday. Perhaps enough for an official white Christmas.

Discuss.

They call it a Clipper… clipper, faster than lightning,

Few storms you see, are faster than he,

And we know the Clipper’s just a vort in the dry air,

Flying by here, on it’s way to the sea

Snow lovers hope each Clipper they see,

Will stall and grab moisture, when it reaches the sea

But that trick’s a rare one, and much more likely

No one will see, more than a coating to three.

Poetic license approved, nicely done. As always…..

“More than a coating of 1-3” might have flowed a bit better in that last line; but excellent nonetheless.

Yeah no one saying SNE is in best snow area. Just saying 1-2” is very possible

I’ll take under 2” except maybe the Berks. You’ll probably have to ratio your way to 1” EOR, but hopefully there’s at least a wintry appeal for all on Xmas eve.

The snow OTG now for all won’t go anywhere. It’s been a long long time of regional white Xmas. As our president DJT says.. many, many years

Looks more like a NNE event given the track and forcing…would like to see it come south more. It’s more of a glorified quick cold front in SNE on the gfs and ec right now.

Track has seemed pretty consistent the last few days but maybe we can get a modest south/more juicy trend going.

No thanks. SNE has theirs. ;)

The guidance on this has been consistent, including both the track and the lack of moisture. I'm just hoping for some mood flakes and maybe a coating.

Let’s all get in on the fun for once lol. It’s a shame this couldn’t pop off the Delmarva and blow up to give us all something more significant.
