It’s coming down pretty good now. Eyeballing around 2 inches or so.

Actually, my latitude is about the same as that of Weymouth (not S. Weymouth), so I think it's more of a longitude issue from the look of the radar.

He's been doing it for awhile now. I think maybe since 2019? The year after the disaster of measuring on metro Boston's giant septic tank.

I remember that one, driving home from NH, snowing down 93 until a few miles before the Zakam Bridge, then rain through Downtime Boston and southern suburbs. Once I got south of Brockton to around Bridgewater on 24 it started to flip, then flipped completely to snow driving south along rt140 and came home to about 2-3" down in Acushnet. Very strange one.

Hrm thought they moved. Was 2019 the last Winthrop year? Damn time flies by.

There was one year they did it on Deer island on the water treatment plant. I think that was 2018-19. Winthrop last season was 2017-18? Scooter would remember.

Yep, 18-19. He took over after I think. Pretty sure starting 19-20.

I should have stayed consistent, I got a little jolt from the NAM runs this morning and thought we had a shot here.

The snow is really ripping here now as was expected between 4-6 pm.  Visibility reduced from what it was earlier.

Still just a coating though. Roads are real mess. I don't think RIDOT expected this one to make the impact it's already making.

Well the 12Z GFS was also good..but temps always seemed to be a problem to me if we didn't get the super heavy rates, at least in my neck of the woods

I think this is going to have an outsized impact. By the time you get the truck drivers to the vehicles and into position on a day like today there's so much traffic that they can't get across their routes, CF bumps through and road freezes up, drivers get stuck on a small incline, backs up behind that. Not saying that has happened yet but traffic seems awful. Just bad timing for snow on a day everyone is trying to get out of town or shop for the holidays; doesn't take much to gridlock everything.
