More southern stream involvement with the clipper Wednesday night on the 0z GFS… but the models have been absolutely all over the place for mid-week. Vorticity features are hundreds of miles apart from run to run.

I don’t think this fast flow in the northern stream will be properly resolved for a while. Also the fast flow will make timing difficult for a larger event.

Stein going full :damage: for southerners tonight.  thoughts and prayers

And last year was a poor peach crop due to not enough cold air in Georgia/ South Carolina the prior winter meant the trees had not had their required amount of time under freezing.  Quite a change in one year.

Thankfully above the inversion this morning. Currently 8.7° off of 4°, but the rest of the area is mostly below 0°.

All sorts of temperature variability. Just drove back from Boston. Temperatures ranged up and down from 16 to 6 depending upon the spot.

-0.9⁰ this morning, that makes 3 out of the last 4 nights below zero, the only night that didn't got down to 0.3⁰. Impressive for sure around here, especially since I didn't get below zero that last 3 years. It did get warm enough yesterday that the snow finally melted off my south facing solar panels.

Tip will love this from today's NYT:

On Wednesday, the ground speed of a flight from Las Vegas to London hit 814 m.p.h., close to the subsonic speed record of 835 m.p.h., which was set by a flight from New York to Lisbon last February.

My brother did DL230 from JFK to FCO with 200Mph tail winds.  Got it to Rome an hour early, but there was congestion and limited gates for his bird so ATC kept him in a holding pattern for 45 minutes east of Corsica.
