powderfreak
Damn. What a great upslope storm. Still ripping in town with 9” on the ground. Dense on the bottom, more powdery on top but also graupel and lower ratio flakes. There’s QPF in there. Good to get the snowpack down for the cold coming. 16

You can see how some of these places in NYS pile up huge totals but can't retain them. That said maybe ours sticks around a bit now with the low sun angle and cold temps. Even as some sublimates. 5

78Blizzard
Giving up alcohol for the first month of the year has become a popular trend known as Dry January. Many of us aim to give new meaning to the term Dry January by unwillingly giving up snow for the month.

Some do have a shot in this forum, albeit not many . And I do agree we don’t want to be on northern fringe to see snow, you want to be in the meat of it, northern fringe will be virga. We need another 100 mile north bump for southern CT to see advisory snow. 4

Damage In Tolland
There’s absolutely no reason to not think 2-4 ends up in southern 2/3 of CT and 1-3 to pike. Confluence weakening in models at 3day lead. On queue 1

Well then that’s My mistake. Regarding the Monday system…if it trended 50 miles each day(and that’s not hard to do) into go time it’s snow for a lot of areas SOP. Obviously, that confluence has to relax for this to happen. But it’s certainly not impossible at 3.5-4.0 days to go.

I measured 10 on my car but it was sooo windy Im going with 7-8 here a few miles s of you. Nice storm! I see nothing synoptically for quite some time but I think we will nickel and dime ourselves to a very healthy Jan...happy for the Mtn to dominate all the upslope to keep my plow bill down

Sey-Mour Snow
If you take away yesterday 18z euro run, it's been pretty steady last several runs.. some noise each run thats about it, so it's not wagons north with euro, it's kind of just other models catching up to it.. We still need a lot of trending to get it done for CT.. There has to be consistent bumps north starting at 00z tonight.. 1

Ironically (and I’m just speaking for our yards not anyone else) the last minute trends this season have generally been in our favor…but with each system being fundamentally flawed.

Yup that tenor of last minute trends has helped us with every system in December…can we keep the juju going with this one too?
