It’s not about the amounts many times..it’s about the visibility, and cold feel.  Obviously for NE, Blizzards are big storms here for us.  Midwest, and Louisiana lol that isn’t always the case(in Louisiana’s case have they ever had a blizzard warning?).

Never had a blizzard warning along the gulf of Mexico, but it only takes one day to get one in the gulf of America.

cantore is there, of course TSSN will occur, I'd love to see him on the beach during a blizzard warning in Louisiana... still not believing that statement, just issued a WSW for Duval county in FL too...

On full rad nights our frost pocket can be at least 10° colder than the GYX forecast.  Wind was still active at 10:30 last evening, so "only" -13 here instead of the -17 that IZG reported - I'm usually close to that spot.  Coldest I saw was -24 at BML.

-.05F  The settlers of 1795 sure knew how to site houses back then.  A balmy night here on my hill.  Far cry from my all time record of -20F.   Of this was just the fake cold everyone down below is whining about.

Meanwhile, just a wow down in the Gulf of whatever.   Florida should break their all time biggest snowfall

Not surprised in the least bit. Extreme events have and will become commonplace either side of the spectrum. 
Hot, cold, droughts, floods. 
Something going on around here. The frequency of these events is apparent.

That should help from a power perspective, right?  Or maybe their infrastructure is hardened enough for hurricane preparedness that it should be fine anyway.

The best we can do is a 1 km by 1 km grid. 

Just ask @alex, pretty sure his forecast grid goes from like 1500 ft to 2700 ft.

Literally (1) county to my N. warnings be close to trigger. Trend has been colder so maybe still a chance.
No insulation in my house but do have heating system and fireplace. 
Heck I'm still in shorts and a T.
