His coop is fine, but he has an unsheltered weenie sensor that he puts down in the valley of his christmas tree farm that he calls the Maple Hollow. He puts the readings in the comments of his monthly coop reports.

Spattering of members over eastern NE with a couple deep members. 

It’s primitive as signals go and more members likely yet to join … provided the compression continues to ease

I actually bottomed out at 8.4⁰ this morning, way colder than I expected. Can't imagine what I will get to if we get some snow down before the cold next week....

Some spots could put up some impressive lows during the middle of next week if we can decouple with snow cover. -20 to -25 850 temps while decoupled with snow cover will make some good numbers. Nothing super crazy but I’d expect a lot of below zero readings in the usual rad pits if that happened.

I actually bottomed out at 8.4⁰ this morning, way colder than I expected. Can't imagine what I will get to if we get some snow down before the cold next week....

Same temp as me this morning then, got to 8.4

Not really surprising, we had 9 in Westfield,  and buddy had 8.5 in Southwick

He’s a trip. -20° at his coop in Jan 94, but -33° next to the balsam firs.

Multiple “Light frosts” in July 2001.  Also reports weenie valley high temps on hot days.

See if you can find Wood River Junction RI SW RI coldest in the state.  I lived 2 miles from there and the rad night difference is insane. Pines sandy soil and in a valley.

That was the year I had 7 nights in a row below zero, he has 6 out 7 on that graph, I had two mornings -20, I lived in a good rad spot that year. The Connecticut River was frozen solid for a few weeks that year.
