And how much have you had ?

About an inch.  The point is Xmas wasn’t 6 weeks ago.  And I’m not worried at all…at 7.25” on the season(better than last year at this point).  The Cold is here, and here to stay it looks, we’ll have more chances.  Everything won’t miss.

Plenty of potential winter to track they will be back.  Pattern looks cold and active with a different look this time, let’s see what happens when we roll the dice this time looks like Jan 18-25 will be fun for someone, where exactly TBD.

Tracking is one thing. We’ve been tracking since Xmas. Expecting is another thing entirely

I’m 100% out and here is what I mean. I won’t turn my nose at cold and snow. Any time flakes fall it’s something to be grateful for. You never know when it’ll be the last time you enjoy snow. I will be here and engage with people (maybe a little less but still here) but in my heart I know that another well below normal season imby is close to a lock.

I totally respect the idea that the future is always uncertain, there’s plenty of time left, the pattern looking ahead is good etc., but I simply do not believe that I will see approximately 40-45” of snow between now and March 15 to bring me to normal.

Aside from my slow burn the last few days I won’t be crapping up threads whenever there is something to track. I don’t cancel winter lightly. I want to be wrong. I’m pretty sure I’m not.

Last year blew and the year before was worse. How are the Candy crapping unicorns?

How much snow are you expecting rest of winter? Let’s get a number on paper .

I think You’re gonna be surprised…Your March 15th date is still 9 weeks from now…but hey if you’re out, we’ll respect your decision.

I really hope I am. I think that we get very few big dog opportunities that appear yearly, and this weekend storm was one of them. Assuming that dropped a foot, there’s a huge difference heading into the final 1/3 of January with ~16” (36% of climo) vs 4” (8%).

I do think we’ll get snow, but I’m highly skeptical it’ll be a double digit one (imby).

Edit: I’ll throw a number out too. I think I see 22-27” between now and the end of March. That’d put me between 26-31” on the season.

Terrible, some places in Central and Western Mass have has maybe 6-8 inches but the coast has been terrible so far.

BOS had almost 6” in the 12/20 event so they are BN but not horrifically like other spots further west. Just south of BOS is really bad on the south shore right on the coast.

I can't complain . This weather has been perfect for me. Sustained cold, no snow and stiff winds to dry out the wood. Couldn't draw it up any better. Business is booming.

I need to find a local pond to take the kids skating on. At least this weather is good for something.

Not sure about that area .. but the wind has prevented many local ponds here from freezing in the middle. Right at bottom of hill it’s wide open in the middle despite not sniffing freezing since Jan 1

From now, to the end of March is 11 weeks, that’s pretty close to 3 months.

I’m at 13.9” YTD. I’ll likely finish under 35”

Ok, now that’s wild.  So you think all you’re  gonna get is about 20” more for the next 3 months?   I think that’s unlikely, but cool.

oh I know, was just giving a frame of reference about how true winter this cold snap has been :)

I drove past my local reservoir today and it looked like good skating ice with an open area in the middle likely from ducks needing that.

Wtf with the wind!  Thought it was dying down? 30 mph gust just came through. I guess not yet.

Some big gusts pushing the truck around on the ride home this evening around 7:30.  Was roaring again in the treetops out in the woods today. Blows.

Without a big coastal it’s very unlikely. And in fast flow Pac pattern winters we don’t get those. So it will be very hard to nickel and dime our way to even that number before warm flip in mid Feb . Obviously hope you’re right , but do not think you will be
