30° and ready to leave Pawleys Island SC for East Hartland. I’ll be going through areas that have had snow, VA Maryland and PA. I came down here a couple days before Christmas after being in Hartland for the month after Thanksgiving and thought I would be missing all kinds of terrific snow events, lol. Been following the angst over the lack of snow but if we get a decent amount of snow before the end of the month and February and March are snowy I think most will think it was at least a decent winter.

@The 4 Seasons .. fun little side project

Besides the 5 climo sites, take those numbers with a grain of salt as most are missing many days over 25 years. Which is understandable. I tried to only include reports that are missing <1000 days, which is actually not that much over 9,125 days, about 10%. I also have the 1981-2010 and 1990-2020 Northeast maps from the NWS on our site as well.

This is some of the most incredible wind I can remember.  Day 3 of tropical storm gusts at 0F and snow.  As gnarly as it gets up here at the mountain.

Yeah the wind is insane down here in the low lands I can’t imagine at the summit

10.9° at midnight…up to 14° now. I assume we’re losing the CAA despite the continued strong NW flow.

It's like groundhog Day. Step out of the house to a strong wind. Wind chills have been between 0 and 5 all week.

Starts warming aloft but stays super inverted below it. Tomorrow it's like 0C here at 850 and NW winds...normally a torch

Indoor treadmill workout tonight.  Took a break from the cold and wind.  Actually it’s a better workout but you have to have a distraction-tv.

Over the past couple years I've found the recumbent bike in front of the TV and under the fan is a great way to distract from the effort. Love the workout, but HATE being overheated

I noticed that. I saw the 850s for tomorrow afternoon and was hopeful for 40s. Alas…will probably be sub freezing again here.

what's so special about the 58.6" area in CT. Is Kevin slant sticking?:lol:image.png.3d21dbe92816da0819ded2d4ffb1e1e4.png

58.6" is nowhere near Kevin, in fact it's not even in CT. That's North Foster Rhode Island. Kevin is in tolland. Also none of these reports come from here, it's all COOP data. See 1991-2020 on my site for comparison in that area.

I think that's the high elevation spot in RI with a touch of it creeps into Connecticut.
