The second s/w diving into the baja basically kicks the first one northeast downstream. Eventually the northern stream drops and phases in with the second, but there isn’t enough to curl it up to our latitude. That kicked lead s/w may be limiting our ridging out ahead of the system. It’s a lot of moving parts though…don’t lose your minds yet.

Well, Its still phased, So we can check that box, Confluence was a bit stronger so we will need to see that lift a bit earlier, But i don't think any of these are killer to the threat.

The big key was getting that northwest energy to not run out ahead of the SW low. That seems locked in now, as it actually fell in on the west side -- though it still got pinched off and left behind. The next piece of energy dropped in a little later than 18z through the Dakotas.
