Is this the place I log my damage report from today's wind storm? Patio chair down!

I had 8 busted spindles on my back deck when I returned from Italy in early July this past year.  Not sure when it happened, but it was some point from June20th-July 2nd when I returned.  (My weather station went down on June 20th.)  I had a pile of 7 steel chairs lying atop one another and a steel table that was moved 30 feet.  Never had that happen, and I've had gusts over 60 since I've been here.

Lol, it was a zero burger here.  Windy yes, but typical garden variety as usual. Completely and utterly forgettable as usual.

The only real difference I noticed was more sustained wind in the 20s.  But the gusts were unmentionable for the most part.  I've had worse without advisories in similar setups.

To be fair it's howling in the treetops right now. Not mixing down too much. Not leaving my chair next to the fire pit however. Cost me a chair last year.

I measured 10 on my car but it was sooo windy Im going with 7-8 here a few miles s of you.  Nice storm!  I see nothing synoptically for quite some time but I think we will nickel and dime ourselves to a very healthy Jan...happy for the Mtn to dominate all the upslope to keep my plow bill down

Yeah I saw a report of 8” from Waterbury Center a few hours ago to the NWS, thought it might’ve been yours, ha.  That 7-10” range sounds right overall for the east side lowlands.

Nobody wants to hear it, but I can’t hate on the look mid month. Looks like a rebuilding ridge in the EPO/WPO region and building Greenland ridge.

Nothing wrong with saying that.   I mean this current set up is just starting to set in now, how it continues to morph over the next week to 10 days is still not carved in stone either.

Yeah we lucked out with the fake effect today.  You can see how some of these places in NYS pile up huge totals but can't retain them.  That said maybe ours sticks around a bit now with the low sun angle and cold temps.  Even as some sublimates.

I find that even an inch of snow in January will stay on the ground for days on end so long as the temperature doesn't go above freezing. Sublimation happens pretty slowly

I admit that I was wrong about the winds. I came home to find both trash cans blown over and moved about 10 feet. thankfully they were empty. I will rebuild

Damn.  What a great upslope storm.  Still ripping in town with 9” on the ground.

Dense on the bottom, more powdery on top but also graupel and lower ratio flakes.

Good to get the snowpack down for the cold coming.

Nice for you guys up there.

If this keeps up you might manifest into the dreams of SNE weenies as a shadowy sleep paralysis demon uttering these words repeatedly in a monotone fashion: "Near blizzard conditions on the east slope into town. Just crushing snow and wind. All joking aside, hope you guys get something in this pattern."

I mean, what’s the alternative, 44F rainstorms with an AK vortex? I’ll keep rolling the dice with a good look and hope the nuances don’t screw us over…in the long run, you’ll do well betting on those looks.

This evening has been good here but nothing like you guys. Even just a few miles west in Montpelier they’ve gotten more than us. 4”-5” or so. We are maybe 3”.

All we can do is look at the extended guidance and comment about how it has historically behaved... nothing wrong with that.  I agree that the look is one I would draw up as favorable for winter storm action.  If it fails and becomes unfavorable in the coming days, nothing we can do about it...  I don't know how many times we can continue rolling the dice without eventually hitting the jackpot...

At some point the law of averages will come into play…something will bust through.
