Something like 600 ski areas in New England have gone by the wayside. Love seeing the little ones that keep on chugging along.

In 1970 and 71 (once each) our NNJ scout troop visited Snow Valley, just north from Manchester VT, in the middle of the Stratton/Bromley/Magic triangle.  T-Bar and Poma, about 600' vertical with some steeps but no black diamonds.  I've looked on GE but the place probably closed a few years after our excursions so the trails have trees 40-50 feet tall.

GFS now has something for the 20th. It was way south yesterday.

Not sure what CAR was seeing, or is there some sort of preceding cutter to the potential Monday?

"The next weather system to watch will be a frontal system approaching Friday night and pushing into the area on saturday. The GFS is carrying a more solid front with the potential if or south winds ahead of it to bring a warmup with wind and rain. The ECMWF, however, shows a less organized system brushing through with only a chance for some light precipitation and southerlies not strong enough to raise temperatures above freezing across the area."

They still have a signal for the 21st but the 19th is trending flatter now. You and I both know, we normally won’t get both in this set up.

Then we hope for something as the cold moves out to end the month

My guess is we see 1 or 2 light - moderate coastal events/ waves that leave a nice snowpack for the cold . Ops aren’t cold and dry either . I don’t think any are right, but they do match the ensembles overall

Good stuff Tamarack, you have a story for everything..lol. Snow Valley has been "maintained" by a core local group for a while now.  They do some minimal brush hogging, maintenance, etc for trail access all seasons. Its a fun little hill for skinning and IMO gets the most snow in the area. The property has been up for sale for years for several million and recently sold, not sure what the intentions are of the new owners though.
