I wasn’t talking about your specific area Ray…as a whole I was meaning. look at Anthony’s last 4-5 seasons, and south of him too. Some places zero or less than an inch or two. We’ve all been screwed over the last few years. Just overall they seem to be even worse.  That’s all.

No, not worse than me.

That's all.

But we did pretty well in that season too. That was the best decent one for most of the area.

Yeah it's my only AN snowfall season since 2017-18. Boston and the immediate coast had AN snow in 2021-22 but nobody west of them did.

Ok your area sucks there lol…but you did have the big win last January there. But that’s been it.  You’re gonna get yours…it’s coming.

Yes, that storm was excellent...one of three worthwhile events I have had in 7 years, along with 2-1-2021 and 12/2019.

Ya your area sucked again…pay back for March of 18 still.   That’s been expensive for you.  But you’re due too, so it’s coming.

NE MA and SE NH is overdue for some big events. All of New England has had it relatively rough the past 5-6 seasons in aggregate, but that area is a pretty decent snowfall climo area that has been shafted worse than most spots relative to climo.

It has been the lack of SWFEs and late blooming Miller B storms that is probably the biggest culprits. Those are the ones they clean up on.

Precisely.

This very well could be a great pattern for the mid Atlantic and south. Lots of Op runs have been grinding up shortwaves and we are left with a shredded mess or nothing.

I could easily envision a scenario where we wait until the block relaxes in late Jan or early Feb before we see a legit chance

I think in addition to the block relaxing we would also want to see the pattern reload some. I think if its just the block relaxing on its own then we probably get screwed because of a stale, rotting airmass. Isn't this what happened in 2009? or maybe both 2009 and 2011.

Agreed, they are....pay back for March 2001

ORH has had a few shaft jobs the past winter or two too even in storms that hit areas nearby. Feels like they are getting some payback for this 6 winter stretch....that's actually a ridiculous stretch relative to climo (about 70" long term mean).

Here in Southwest CT March of 2018 was our snowiest March of all time although not as much as eastern Mass.

I would say CT has skated most realtive to climo...not as much regression there since 2015.

We’ve been a little haven here some…but it’s sucked overall too.  Every region has places that have had it even worse than others. Generally speaking it’s sucked for all of us.  Yours has been one of those areas.

But 2015 wasn’t the record breaker, blockbuster that eastern areas, and you and SE areas had.  It was above normal here for sure…but it was very lack luster in comparison.  And so was March of 18 here(one good event here, vs 3 great ones out east) Hmm, who knows, maybe that’s why we haven’t seen it quite as bad as other areas in the overall suckage that has been the last few years.  I know that’s over simplifying it(and random luck playing in)…but it’s kind of funny how that has played out if one looks at it from that point of view.

It was East of the River with over 100”. That was the winter of my life even though it only last 6-7 weeks

I dont care much for seasonal averages. Give me a memorable 20+ event over any over-performing queefs. It’s been 14yrs since my last bonified 18+. I’d much rather get one of those in a BN season at the hands of some “average winters” made up of 4-8” dimes.

Relative to Climo, ORH has done better than just a little east .. quite the gradient between metro west and say Hubb Dave even

I'm at 28.7" (22/23), 33.5" (23/24) the past two years

:lol:Well it is…sorry.  I think you know what I meant.

Anyway, we look to be entering a very good pattern.  It can fail, but I don’t think it will. Nothing wrong with pointing out the potential pit falls…every pattern will have them, but there seems to be more chances of something good happening with this set up that’s incoming, than what we’ve seen the last few years.
