Yeah that was an impressive month. CT was ground zero but we all had our own jackpots I feel like. Ground zero started in CT but then it moved northeast it felt like….CT jackpotted in the 1/12 HECS and the norlun on 1/7-8.

Your area jackpotted in the sneaky clipper/redeveloper on 1/21/11 and did well in the front ender on 1/18/11…then of course there was 1/27 which destroyed eastern half of SNE and you did really well again in the 2/1-2/2 storm.

My second favorite winter period after '15. The norlun and HECS in close proximity was amazing.

The 1/11 - 1/12 storm was so great on so many levels.  My mom and I were at a friend's house while it came down.  Drinking, carrying on.  My gf was on her way up from the city and got stuck about a half mile away in downtown Woodbury.  We all walked through the storm to meet her and just had a great time walking back in the middle of Rt 6 and frolicking away like the kids we were.  But it wasn't fun digging her car out the next morning with a hangover.

Sounds like a fabulous time on that 1/11-12 storm for you guys :mapsnow:. What a month that was for us. The crazy Norlun(didn’t even know what that was until that happened).  The 1/27 system went sick here too…almost zero visibility that night with that one.  Some more snow and Ice mixed in between too, to add to the density and durability of the monstrous pack.

Funny, it was only about a month after I had signed up for an account here and began lurking.  That was probably one of the first storms whose development I would have followed on here.

that was one of my favorite winter months of all time, that norlun event gave me a foot in Waterbury at the time, it was nuts digging a path for the oil delivery and seeing the different layers from each. I topped at 39" but that path started at that and by the time I got to the street it was over 6' from plows and blowing it there, best all time single pack event will still be 2013 those, 33" otg when I woke. think Hamden jacked with 40" in that one.

Yes sir..that was kind of my point, but didn’t want to say it for fear of people saying I’m comparing/predicting a January 2011.   The pack here was insane that month, as Will said CT was buried; best ever in my lifetime. Had to shovel roofs…everything was caving in.

Yep - I was so mad after the Boxing Day disaster but then everything went crazy until the end of January 2011…..I was working in Cheshire at the time and we couldn’t keep Up with all the calls For roof inspections….lot of schools inspections…..the Cheshire town pool enclosure colllapsed just down the street - by far my deepest pack in 20 years - I have a mark on the dogwood in the front yard where it got the highest at 31”……that was a great month

Was just trying to get back on topic is all. Thanks for your concern snappy ( plus... What I can see only goes out to Friday 1/3 ).

You’re the second person who ever referred to me as snappy but for a different reason and the first one was 50 years ago!  Hopefully it all holds off until you return from Florida.

Honestly it looks like 1/8 on this run could go BOOM.

Just missed, the wave spacing could be an issue. Of course this is so far out it probably doesn't know which energy to key on...I think if you consider its bias to be too cold in the LR we're sitting in a good spot at this juncture.

And that 31” is probably one of the lower readings(and that’s not low)…shoveling my moms porch roof, and Girlfriends garage roof here in town, they were in the upper 30’s(37-38” if I recall) when we did them. Crazy stuff.
