Long time lurker. This site cracks me up. Great posts. Great comedy.
Here’s my dilemma. What model wins 8 days out? GFS or the AI(bee bop bee bop)?

None of them check back in 5 days it will show something completely different I’m not getting fooled a 4th time under rising sun angles.

Mesos are starting to pick up on a norlun feature as the ULL swings through on Thursday. We had one of these about a month ago and it gave us a little over an inch. Wouldn’t be surprised to see something similar with this one.

We had one last year put down 5-10” Macungie just south of I-78

I think that was the SWFE with the rogue death band in mid February. Most of eastern PA got 2-4” except for a 10-20 mile wide band of 8-12” near I-78. Pretty wild mesoscale event, not sure we’ll see anything like that again anytime soon.

you are right- it was not a norlun- just a plain death band that gave Macungie the highest snow total in Eastern PA last year. here is a picture of my 14 in of snowfall on 2/16/2024

Lows this morning were more than 10 degrees below normal for late February. The coldest spot was here in East Nantmeal at 11.8 degrees. A few more well below normal days with high temperatures remaining below freezing until Saturday. We should start a nice moderating trend that will get us to near normal to above temperatures to close out the month of February. Below normal temperatures look to return as we start the March. Precipitation wise we could use a little snow or rain as we are running at only about 70% of normal melted snow/rain so far here in 2025. Unfortunately, only some flurries are possible tomorrow and maybe some showers by Monday evening.

Spring is definitely closer than we thought. I’m hearing Red winged Blackbirds already

I've been hearing birds chirping around sunrise for a few weeks now. It would be nice to just slide into spring, but we're never that lucky. No, I'm not predicting snow. Just two months of raw, windy, rainy days before we turn on the AC in mid May. :(

It’s just banter, but I wanted a laugh from it. Like a weenie I’m reading long range thread in the MA forum getting my hopes up for feb28 to mar 2 period.

Only to have them crushed

Pretty sure Birds realize spring is coming because of the length of day / sunlight. It could probably be cold as balls out but as long as the sun/ daylight is progressively longer they will start arriving. Same goes with fall and shorter days, they will start heading south. Overall they understand seasons are changing due to sunlight or lack of sunlight. They may be a little late or a little early to the party but they know it's coming....

I would take a mighty cool rainy April and May so Summer will be postponed as long as possible because it never fails. Why have that hot junk come in early especially since the "new" Summer ramps right into late Sept/early Oct....Fall arrives mid Nov.

I concur- we are in weather purgatory right now.

NO not purgatory, the hellish fires of a major drought. I hope you guys are praying for one hell of rainstorm in March because this fricking "REVOLUTION" type of progressive windy and dry weather pattern will not change. I have a perfect explanation of this revolution pattern  in a video clip of how this pattern will not end.

As a note, I have never seen any red-winged blackbirds here in Philly but when I took a trip up to Niagara Falls during the summer about 10 years ago (Canadian side), there were a billion of  them there.   I was like OOOOOHHHHH... THAT is what they look like in person!

Have been battling the dry air much of today. Got down to a low of 15 this morning and a dp of 1.  Am currently at 27 after reaching a high for the day  if 28. The dp has at least made it into the double digits at 11.  Humidifiers have been having a rough time (have central air here).

Will have to see if anything south of here manages to break through that dry air to deposit anything up here.  My snowdrops are coming up so... :D

You may be losing it. Personally I haven't seen a good brush fire and want to cross it off my list. Let the winds, low DPs and possible flurries continue...
