Heisy.
If the woman in your avatar is your wife/girlfriend please give her equal exposure. She is much better looking. J/K

Haha that’s my wife. She’s been on 2 storm chases with me. She doesn’t really understand it but she’s a sport

This has been a rough winter only because we’ve had pretty decent patterns but just can’t seem to get lucky. I really hope we can muster 4+ N of the mason dixon line but who knows.

When did this become a pattern for Chicago?

Upper level jet streak has been trending towards a better position with the 11/12 storm on the NAM. Better upper-level divergence in the right entrance region of the jet bringing a more expansive precip shield north. NAM gets 0.6" of QPF to Philly!

this a good map as the screaming progressive winds die off a little. Lets hope it holds

DC usually gets screwed and quite a bit, sports teams as well, so I don't mind them cashing in once a while....But for us, we are due for a 4-6"+ storm, damn it's been a while.

They’re definitely benefiting from the west to east 500mb pattern and just enough cold air north without suppression.

Without the cold MJO Phase 6 and 7 would be a torch

Yeah, but well, great for them this year. But overall they get screwed quite a bit over the years.
