Big flakes grand finale going on, could be the last of winter

Blobbed on radar

Looks like about another 35 minutes a burst then done at least everything is white but yea the dam drought rages on here in Delaware County it’s going to get bad with the increasing sun angle as we head towards March April and May in the back of my mind is that April and May are wetter months but will they produce is a big question.

Looking at the LR- the drought is going get a lot worse in the upcoming 10-15  days. Basically  less than .25 in of rain and dry as hell between a couple of rain events.  Like Red Sky said, snowstorms appears to be over on the LR.

Okay, I'll bite. What if we get very minimal rain through March, April and May what exactly happens? For my experience nothing happens. It seems like life goes on. Maybe a water restriction? Not washing the car, watering the lawns? Tell us what doomsday will bring Sir drought guy...

New phrase?

They are much smaller than regular bands or even streaks but they can produce like a pop-up cell! :P

I finally got under one that actually managed to dust up the previously treated surfaces (streets and sidewalks) but it only gave me a whopping additional 0.1" for a total of 0.2" for the day so far.

Currently down to 23 with dp 19, and some stray misty flurries.

Umm if that happens down here Springton Reservoir will be pretty much empty.

Might have a higher chance of having triple digit temps in summer if the set up is right.  If large areas of your ground topsoil are dry, the energy that would normally be spent trying to evaporate any moisture in it will instead go into heating the air even more.

Philly hasn't had a triple digit high since 2012 (if one wants to go down a rabbit hole on that year's previous winter - my 2011/2012 season had 4.01" snow/sleet and that season was a weak La Nina like now).

Looks like the greatest trained spotter report so far from our "event" today has been the 1.0" up in Hudsondale in Carbon County. Most spots so far have reported between 0.3" to 0.8" across our area.

I just submitted my 0.8" snow total to The NWS for here in East Nantmeal Township
