Just switched over to rain/sleet. 33/32

that was fun while it lasted

Just went up to the store...roads are actually worse than I expected.  This is definitely an overperformer event here...was certainly not in the forecast. I guess rain/sleet will be incoming here soon since your climate seems to precede mine.

Yeah 200 ft makes a huge difference in a system like this. I wonder if Tysons Corner has had any accumulation

Reminds me a lot of the late November storm but slightly colder so the elevation needed to see accumulation could reach down to the suburbs vs the mountains.

Someone from NWS has some explaining to do.....why did they not update all afternoon???!!!!! One thing to have a wrong forecast but to not update is inexcusable.

Brunswick , MD

Rain. High near 37. Southeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Still flaking here...back to larger flakes with this latest band.  I remember Millville saying the Frederick valley can take some extra time to scour out cold air.  Seems to be what's happening right now, though rates are probably helping.

this wasn’t a totally out of left field boom situation for those who were watching the model runs.. kind of a compromise between some of the more aggressive guidance and the stuff that kept this solely on the mountaintops. I get why the NWS would hedge low but this isn’t shocking, imo, as someone who has been watching this for 6 days

Big cold high for CAD with WAA precip  is definitely a positive bust potential setup
