Rd9108
Snow reported in Bethel again let's see how far north these bands can get. Not expecting a whole bunch more since the orientation looks to just stay just south.

Can anyone down there confirm. Here there is just a few flurries.

Gordo74
Light snow here as well, but flying in with the winds coming from the east.

Saturday definitely looks like a coastal so Other than maybe nowcasting some pieces of vorticity in the NW flow interacting with some lake moisture this week, there really isn't anything to watch until whatever happens this weekend. I'm almost wondering if the weekend thing would be better off for our chances if that energy in the SW gets stuck there and picked up by the next NS wave after it. Not worth parsing anything after the weekend other than it looks like the window for winter weather will remain open for awhile.
Ahoff
We’re lucky it’s cold and that some random things can pop up in the short term, cause there doesn’t seem to be anything of note in the long range for us. But the snow will at least stick around for a while. More than we can say for the last few winters.
Rd9108
Nice winter day again atleast. Hopefully we can score a bigger event this year before spring. Plenty of time.
Burghblizz
Caught a couple sneaky heavy bands on the very tail end. Obviously a dud based on time invested, but a decent day. I may have close to 2” now for the day. Interesting to see how that translates to some areas that already did pretty well. Think it could bump the totals to 5-6” in spots in Fayette and Greene. Mailman
I was at 4.5" about an hour ago.
Rd9108
Obviously we probably won't be jackpotted due to no way besides an earlier phase to bring this next wave up the coast, but we could still maybe see some small accumulations to pad the stats. Something to watch.
Gordo74
Probably 2-3” here. A little disappointing but overall 5-6” for the Friday - Monday with no above freezing temps in sight. Nice to enjoy a white ground for winter!

PghPirates27
Awesome congrats. I am just glad we have 3 weeks of cold. It’s good for the soul, and the backyard ice rink.

CoraopolisWx
12 hours ago, Mailman said: Ended up with 5.5". Can't complain. Glad to hear that. There’s some valley floor locations in the lower mon valley, that have probably been in the single digits the past two winters. It’s been a rough stretch for snow totals down that way for awhile. RitualOfTheTrout
Anyone getting any decent snow out of that band in central Allegheny right now? Looks to be slowly drifting east, so hope to catch a little bit of it. This NW flow setup *could* over the next couple days end up being better for some than the storm. (Not saying much when your bar is 1 inch but hey!) Still gotta love snow on snow with temps in the 20s.

We picked up another 2” since about 7am-just got WWA from noon today through noon Thursday for another 3-6” as well as blowing snow
Rd9108
Looks like this weekend is our next shot with northern stream energy rolling through. Won't be anything crazy but maybe we are looking at a 1-4 type event.

Won't be anything crazy but maybe we are looking at a 1-4 type event. I'm totally fine with those events if they're consistent. This has certainly been the most wintry stretch I remember over the last few years. Even days like today where you might pick up a random half inch or so are nice. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk Yeah, I feel like when I was a kid we almost always had a stretch like this in winter. I remember getting smaller-ish storms, and sled riding then followed up like every other day getting another 1-3 or 2-4 with snow on the ground adding fresh powder to our sled runs lol I'm sure my memory makes it seem more frequent than it probably was but this is the type of stretch I've been missing. Still wouldn't be mad if we scored a bigger storm somewhere along the way.

Honestly, the big phased look was probably going to fringe us, maybe we end up worse off with that look so this might end up better for "more snow" anyways. Agreed if this phases it probably kills the northern stream and causes the NW side of the low to have a strong cut off gradient. I'll take the constant build up of snow pack. Just give me one 8-12 event and I'll call this season a success atleast compared to last year.

Maybe a few overperforming clippers next week.

Those big puffy dendrites though so it adds up. Probably 1-2 since midnight but hard to tell with the blowing. Looks like 2 or 3 clippers next week. I always preferred the "Saskatchewan Screamer" If I was ever musically inclined I would have started a punk band with that name. lol
