There is a lot of great potential with this upcoming pattern. Check out every ensemble & teleconnection. We are talking about week 2 & not several weeks down the road.

Yes, we can’t shovel potential, but if this look doesn’t get a Winter weather enthusiast excited, then nothing will.

43 (with a low of 41) and about .25" of rain since last evening.  Rain pulling out earlier than forecast.  Appears to be mostly done for much of the LSV...a good 4-6 hours early compared to some runs the last 24-48 hours.   HRRR has some making a run for upper 50's today.

My ground has been white for the majority of December. I've been "blessed," if you want to use that word. But I know the majority in this subforum have not had that experience. 

To see wish casting take place over and over and over and over and over again for years on end with absolutely zero materialization in the past few years, I can understand why some would want the wish casting to end. 

Here's the facts: Bubbler's posts about the GFS painting 60s is more likely to materialize than the wet dream maps for thirteen days from now. 

So, again, slow down.

Isn’t saying it’s not going to snow despite ALL model guidance saying it will snow, the same thing?

I think saying "it's coming, it's coming" over and over while pushing the goalposts back is wish casting. Last week it was January 5th. Now it's the 10th. This time next week it'll be the 20th. And then February 1st, and then Valentine's Day, and then March of 93 memory posts start and that's when a season is punted.

The reason you know the cold and snow are coming is TCC is poo-pooing in the Climate Change forum the Medieval warming period never took place as he states some have written.  Lol Forget the Viking ruins that show they were there for hundreds of years planting crops in a climate many, many degrees warmer than now.

To clarify, I was only forecasting 60's Sunday (though someone may pop today.).  AN for 7-14 days, probably 7 or 8 as trends continue to favor cold afterwards.
