Good morning! :)

My low was 40 overnight and it looks to be a fairly decent Friday.

Whatever happened to the simple premise of people talking well/acting well towards others? It's very discouraging to see how so many people lack decency to just treat others well. If this "culture" is going to be an ongoing theme in here, I need to move on myself. I'm growing increasingly tired of miserable people.

I was teaching a class recently and made a point about integrity. I said that I sincerely hoped that if I walked out of the room I was teaching in, the people remaining would only have good things to say about me. To me, that matters. I want to leave a lasting, positive impression on others. Well, as soon as i said it, someone immediately yelled out with venom "I don't give a F what you or anyone else thinks of me."

I just find that sad.

Back to weather, there seems to be a strong consensus around the following pattern:  A couple-day cold blast late this weekend, followed by a mid-week soaker (yes I know we've been burned by these a lot recently but this one seems like it might pack a bit more punch), and then another cold blast to end the week through next weekend (just in time for the PIAA state wrestling championships in Hershey, swear it's always cold for that).  I would also say the chances of any type of final mid-month winter storm seem to be diminishing, although too far to completely rule anything out.  Looks like a classic March ahead to me.......up and down, up and down.  Onward.

Cooler today with temperatures closer to normal for the end of February. A few degrees above normal tomorrow before we fall too much below normal temperatures for both Sunday and Monday. Sunday will struggle to freezing across the higher ridges. Some good news in the forecast for next week...we start a slow moderating trend, but some much needed significant rains look increasingly likely for the mid-week period. We are running well below normal in precipitation so any rain would be most welcome.

"Some" model consensus that we might have a chance for wintry precip centered around next weekend. By no means are they good odds but it's likely the last "legit" chance of the season.

I came from his blog as well.  Sorry @Blizzard92

I do believe he was referenced at the tail end of the CNN article about the terminations.

This is a weather thread and only weather. People have their own opinions.

They do. I give my opinions in here too, mostly on the weather. I don’t find it necessarily off topic or “non weather related” to discuss the impact of terminating hundreds of very intelligent people in an agency that maintains/improves/provides weather forecasts and life saving warnings to all US and maritime interests, free and open access to computer modelling, analysis and data that all private weather entities (including free model sites) and weather enthusiasts like yourself use. All for an annual cost to the taxpayer that amounts to less than two months subscription to DT’s newsletter. But that’s just my opinion I suppose.

This. It is very related to what we talk about every day.

I miss snow already.

Got a feeling that I'll be cave dwelling this spring/summer.  Warmth is more enjoyable than it used to be, but I find little joy in searching for it, as its always around the corner.  I'll just be outside enjoying whatever comes my way.  I hope everyone here can do the same.  Good food for the soul.

Also as we've historically seen the 1 sided slander, and it's going to be hard to just "sit back" and take it (like many of us have over the years), so out of respect, I'll just step away as well. My work is surely suffering (and it was expected), so it's probably best that I type less and work more.

I just hope we can all agree that something needed done, and there were always going to be winners and losers no matter how it is done.  I feel for those affected, and hope that as good ones are displaced, that the private sector snatches them up and their worth is realized. As I've helped to run a business, sat on a board of directors for 7 yrs., hired and fired, I now am a fully commission based employee.  Every month my numbers (report) is shared with all senior management....and while I may be in the cave this spring/summer....I surely can't hide in there, as it wont feed me and mine. I can understand the gravity of making difficult decisions... I've made them, and saw how it affected people.  It's never taken lightly.

Ground truth is that facts and feelings don't always jive when the word "work" is being discussed.

My best friend always says to our crew...especially the kids (mine included)...."they call it work for a reason....its your job".  Timely and really resonates...

No matter where you sit, y'all are extended family to me, and welcome at my table.

I read the last half of this in Sally Struther's voice. I assume considering this place is a retirement village Bingo Hall, that reference will land.

I get that everybody dials back a bit once winter comes to an end but really hope you two stick around.  Board would suffer a huge loss without yinz.  As long as everyone sticks to keeping the nonsense to the "red banner" thread, as directed, we should be fine here.  Big ask, I know ha.
