mahantango#1
JB said he expects the colder than normal temps to hang on till mid April. and we'll have a late Spring. But DT seems to say the opposite. So we'll see who is right. Wxrisk.com Now for the stupid people in the cheap seats let's be clear about this. YES of course we WILL see cold days in the second half of March and in April in the Eastern CONUS. The KEY phrase here is PROLONGED winter weather. ChescoWx
Today will be mild again but not as warm as yesterday. Rain chances increase tomorrow morning but with only light amounts. We turn back well below normal temperatures by the end of the upcoming weekend and move through the first week of March.

Virginia had a snowstorm last week. Interestingly, I was following along in the Richmond-specific thread and the posters were sharing what the local forecasters were calling for...most were in the 3-6" ballpark for Richmond proper. DT was calling for 9-12" and was calling out the local forecasters for their "lack of understanding of what was about to happen." Richmond's final official tally: 4"

You know me, i almost drove to Virginia to beat his azz because he went off on me years ago calling me all kinds of misspelled names. Keep digging Saus, you'll find it in there somewhere! For some reason I thought it was on a more obscure forum but when Blizz said he (he being UTS) was on the old Accuweather forums that's when it clicked, as I used to frequent those prior to coming here. Nowadays, this is the only forum I visit, and it's been that way for many years. Weather forums are like women, I can't manage one, much less two ha.

The one theme going on 18 months is for us to be forecast a whole lot of qpf in the medium-long turn only for it to completely collapse under 3 days. If any issues in the models need looked at it is this. Even when it's only modest qpf forecasts the ground truth has usually been a 50% or more reduction. That one tropical system dumping 8-10" on me when forecast like 3" hid a lot of crapSent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
