Oh, ok Bubbler.  I was so focused on my area I didn't notice your area.  So, yeah, total surprise for your area and not a pleasant one, at least on the roads.

LOL, no worries.  I was sort of joking but really the bigger surprise to me is the temps.   Here at home on my real therm it is 28 but temps in Chambersburg dropped from 33ish to 26-28 when the real snow+ kicked in.  I was counting on temps staying near freezing.

We have sleet mixing in right now so the change is taking place here as well.  I just measured 3 spots and an average of 2.6".  I measured between Chambersburg and Fayetteville and they were approaching 3" an hour ago so they probably broke 4 in some spots up there.

Yep I’m in c burg having lunch and it’s still snowing hard, no mixing. Also looks like my house has beat back the mix a bit

It’ll be interesting to see at what point the news outlets start blowing the horn for Thursday. WGAL this morning was just like “some snow” making it sound like no big deal.

WTAJ in Altoona apparently did yesterday.

I continue to be amazed at just how different your micro climate is to up around here.  In all aspects.  Like a few days ago when the sun came out by you and your temp shot up into the upper 40's.  While that was happening I was overcast with a temp of 36 degrees.

I am on the west side of the South Mountain chain about 1/3 of the way up toward Pen Mar park so not really a valley at all here,  I very often go east via Blue Ridge Summit and run into completely different weather just a few miles from my house as I get to the other side of the small range.   We do not do CAD hardly at all here.  So yes very different areas.  I am more like Atommixx though a warm version of it.
