Yesterday I walked down to my mailbox to check to see if I got mail. On the way back I decided to cut through the yard. There was grass showing through the ice in the yard. I thought by walking on that ice on the grass I would break through the ice. Man was I wrong. I took a tumble. Now I hurt both wrists trying to break my fall. I landed on my one wrist that I broke about 29 years ago. The one I broke my vickular bone. The one I had a cast on for about 5 months. Its a little swollen and weak now. I don't think it's broken, I think it's sprained. I learned a lesson of don't walk on ice no matter if you think it's not that thick. The other hand I really stubbed my pinky finger. Hopefully my injuries get better.

My hip and knee have been telling me this storm's a comin the last two days. Getting old really does suck.

Moderate snow here for the last hour or so. Really putting it down now.  Better enjoy it before the rain washes it all aways this afternoon. Temps at 28.

A big shout out to my Facebook Page friends and followers as today we have passed 10,000 members!!! I am so appreciative of all of you...even those who struggle with the difference between a model and a forecast. Thank you!
At 945am the NWS upgraded Western Chesco to a Winter Weather Advisory through 8pm tonight. For this winter event #12 of our active season we see snow arriving from the west during the noon hour. Snow will change to rain (little if any sleet) by 4pm - at most we should see around 1" of snow. Beneficial rains will fall through tonight until tomorrow PM. Most spots should see upwards of 1" of liquid equivalent before the rain ends. We turn sharply and unseasonably colder yet again on Sunday night with our temperatures remaining below freezing both day and night for the rest of the work week. The rumored potential snow event midweek remains a possibility. Some models have a large snowstorm....others no more than flurries...stay tuned and thanks again!!

Yea. 24 hours of 55-65 mph winds is going to bring down trees and damage homes.
We should be very thankful it's been very dry, plus we aren't getting over 2" qpf like out near Pittsburgh, plus this isn't happening during leaf out. All things considered these are almost the best possible conditions to limit damage.
