You are doing anything and everything to get wrestling into posts today!  LOL.   The Undertaker.  LOL

Bahahahaha not THAT wrestling.  I mean, I assume the guy was the son of an undertaker??  I also remember he lived at elevation, something like 900-1000' up on Blue Mountain.  Cmon, you guys are the stewards of all-things weather message board.  You are THE people to tackle this conundrum.  Someone has to know of this guy or the board I'm talking about!  Think deeply gentlemen!

These are massive snowflakes falling right now.

You aren't kidding.  I was outside walking around for lunch and couldn't believe it was still snowing, let alone at that intensity (a steady light snow).  In fact, it's still snowing.  This is amazing.  Never saw this coming in terms of duration.  Now as for accumulation, that's another story ha.

So far, 12z Euro wants none of it with regards to any front end snow Saturday, keeps the primary wound up and west of the mountains and pops temps close to 60° Sunday

.

Euro site was down and not on Pivotal.  Do you have it on WxBell or weathermodels?

Enjoy! I arrived at work around 8:30 and it wasn't or hasn't snowed at all. Sun (dimly) has been out a good chunk of the day.

Flake size has increased further and so has the intensity.  This is borderline moderate.  I'll measure at 2:00.  It is fascinating that it's been snowing non-stop since I got up around 8:00.  This is the heaviest I've seen it during this whole time.  Temp 32.2.  I haven't looked at the radar once today!  It's actually more fun enjoying it as it is happening and not worrying about where the end of it is.

Biggest flakes and lowest visibility of the day here in Harrisburg, despite weakest radar returns ha.  Got to love winter radar.  Moderate for sure, could even lay.  What a scene up here.

Checking in over lunch & it is steady moderate snow a few miles north of Harrisburg!

Weak radar indeed, can someone explain what may be happening?

Snow stopped for quite awhile, now it started again. Snowing the hardest it has so far today.

Yes. Same here. It's been nothing more than occasional flurries all morning, but now we have a steady, small flaked, light snow.

Could be a low topped overcast. We had a snow here in Tamaqua about 10 or so years ago that put down a half foot while never once showing on radar.

Low clouds is the best bet, beam overshooting.  Small flake size can hinder a bit too but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Well, all good things must come to an end.  At about 2:00 the snow ended and became very light drizzle.  Some of the drizzle might be freezing but it's too light to tell at the moment.  Between 1:00 and 2:00 the unexpected pick up in intensity really got the accumulations going again.  I picked up an additional 0.7" of new snow.  This, added to the 0.8" between midnight and 11:00am, giving me a total of 1.5" for today.  Yesterday I recorded 0.7" late evening up through midnight.  The storm total is now 2.2".  The temperature fluctuated between 31.6 and 32.0 during the past hour.  Currently, the temperature is 32.0 degrees.  There is still a possibility of adding to today's snowfall this evening when the next event gets underway.  I'll be back in a bit with the melt down since midnight and the total liquid for the storm.
