Superstorm
Snow is developing much sooner than some forecasts...Elliott didn't have snow beginning in Mitch's hood until at least 3pm. Early snow is hardly ever a bad thing. Almost always a good sign.
Bubbler86
Sn+ albeit smaller flakes right now. Between 1/4 and 1/2" on elevated surfaces, grass, etc. No accums on pavement yet. Still 29.

Need most of the LSV to get 3" too or it is a bust. Going to need larger flakes or less sun for the roads to start accumulating.

CarlislePaWx
The snow began here in Carlisle right around 2:00pm. The temp at that time was 31.8. Rates increased to a steady light snow capable of accumulating but only very slowly. Now at 2:40 my temp has dropped to 29.1 degrees. With a dew point of 24 there's still a little room for a further drop to between 27 and 28 especially after sunset. Mulch/grass is dusted in white, but that's about it so far. Nice to see snow falling instead of sleet!

Bubbler86
Both Nams have some holes on the N/W flank of the snow that is going to cut down accums in Cumberland and N Franklin. Lower across the board actually.

We really shouldn’t use the 12k Nam at any range anymore It is a hell of a lot better than using any globals within 6 hours of an event. Within 6 hours the 12k Nam gets used 100/100 times vs any global. Right now is the Nam's wheel house short of comparing it with the 3K which is no better than this though just less smoothed. MAG5035
I’m up at Blue Knob currently, the snow started a bit after noon up here. Looks like about an inch so far. Judging off the cameras looked like some kind of coating to perhaps a half inch at the house.
