Yep we can only hope the next couple of runs change but this could be MA winter for sure

Well that may have spread over us on the next panel and it is way too close to shit the blinds on it.   This is one of those situations where models are not going to do well with keying on the right energy.

18Z 12k now dishing out 0.07" for total qpf from storm #1 in my area.  Ewww

Meanwhile, here in Carlisle at 4:00pm it is overcast with a light southeasterly breeze.  My temp has dropped to 31.5 degrees after hitting a high of 33.3 a few hours ago.  My dew point, which was 18 a few hours ago has risen to 21.6.  My wet bulb was 26.6 earlier and has risen now to 28.0 degrees.  My low this morning was 21.6.  I'm trying to decide whether I should proactively put down ice melt or not.  It's no big deal to do that.  But, I don't want to waste it if I don't have to.

Hey I'm just going by what the radar shows vs models

I agree that things are not looking that impressive atm, but you can see some expansion and deepening to the west over the last 45 minutes. Don't lose sight of the fact that by the time it's precipitating here, it will instantly accret on any untreated surface . It will only take one step to completely Ruin your day.

I must live in an archaic area. I don't think I've ever once seen a plow on my road for anything under and maybe even including 3". LOL

They plow here for anything on the road.  Even 1".  With that said I did not check thermals that closely re: laying on the road.  I just looked at the final accums.

Wow. Interesting.

I remember as a kid, Elliott Abrams would be on WSBA York live in the mornings. He would talk about plowable snows and one morning the guy interviewing him asked him exactly what that meant. Elliott said that he and his Accu Weather friends generally defined it as at least 3". That's always stuck with me.

I just did a quick search to see what people are saying today. The short answer is it depends on who and where. For every forecaster who says 3" there's another that says 2". I didn't come across anyone saying 1" but they didn't consult the Rouzerville road master. LOL
