I'm up to 34.0 and there has been very little melting of the sleet.  The small icicles on the tree branches are almost gone.  I need the temp to go up so I don't have to shovel my sidewalk...lol.  Actually, it's a good time to try out the 35 pounds of ice melt I bought last week.  Extremely environmentally friendly.  Can't harm pets.  You can apply it directly on grass and no harm to vegetation.  Hey, I'm slowly talking myself into getting out the melt...haha.

I use Urea for this every purpose.

The ensemble runs are a bit snowier than the operational runs of the European. The European shows 3 more winter storms over the next 10 days. The first one this weekend is snow to ice. The 2nd one in the Wednesday to Thursday time frame looks to be a "plowable" event. The third looks possible next weekend. The below are the ensemble runs for each of these potential events.

Kind of like we do SW prevailing winds here.  Mostly sunny and 44 now.  Bagged ourselves an AN day.

I am shocked by how much we've been locked in the cold over here.  Been stuck around 35 all afternoon.  I owe @canderson an apology for guaranteeing a full melt-off ha.

Very gloomy and 36.3 currently which is the highest for the day.

Surprised if his driveway and sidewalk are not melted.   CXY and MDT are 36-38.

I just got home - it's 36 here and there's still a lot of ice on my road, driveway and sidewalk. Heading out now to address the situation.

Edit: I'll add that the ice is nothing like it was earlier this morning when I left. Definitely melting going on.

That is weird.  I guess the sleet being harder to melt.   Reesers Summit web cam shows no white even off the road off into the grass.    Maybe the car heat melted it.

I literally just edited my post to clarify. Since you mentioned the grass, I still have solid sleet coverage in all mulch, garden and flower areas.

I had about an inch of sleet and some minor freezing rain accumulation this morning to go with what ended up being 4 lightning strikes I saw between 4-5am this morning. I dunno if I’ve had that much thunder and lightning during the whole late summer and fall lol.

Mixed out here around 2 or so and went from 34 to 48 in about 35 minutes, so a pretty good meltdown ensuing and quite windy.

I had to go use the back side of my shovel’s metal edge to scrape the sidewalks and driveway.  It’s still slick.

@Jns2183 I believe made a post just a few day ago about  Reesers Summit being above freezing while it was freezing just a few hundred feet below .  I'm less than a mile from the summit at 40.204759,-76.886283 and I just took this from my bedroom window.
