Very long ranger but the PV Split being ballyhooed about.  Near zero at MDT at 7PM.

No, not again...

Why would anyone want this? I love summer and heat, but I don't want 100 degrees. I'm quite happy with 80. Can't figure out why anyone would want painful, extreme cold air.

I do not want it but would rather be in the know than not.  This PV split has gained national news notoriety now.

Check out that WAA streak.    Pretty incredible

Also would make this a 24-36 hour event.

The NAM has been very consistent in showing that narrow band of snow during the day on Wednesday out ahead of the main action.  Not sure I buy it but something to keep a close eye on. Would be quite the score to put a little layer of white down before all the slop comes.

I understand and respect your feelings. Truly. And taking those numbers verbatim, you would be a good deal colder than my location. Having said all of that, I personally find single digit temps refreshing and invigorating IF they don't come with strong gusty winds.

I am not going to bring out the Cheez-its guy pic again but...yea.    I will mention him.

It seems to be in several suites in varying levels but nothing like that namming.  Would need a WAA or WSW for Wed and another one for Thu.

Me too, which is why I'm following this despite the fact that its not good for my mental health. I'm in a precarious place as it is. The past two and a half years have been hell.

Perhaps if they didn't have such a negative effect on my job it wouldn't be so bad. I'm outdoors 60% of my shift. The trucks don't like that kind of cold, especially the business end of loading and unloading.

I will hammer the CAD in this upcoming storm. Today feels almost like mother nature showing her hand for Thursday

Assuming that is right at 2M?  How high does Cad hold?  1-2" of sleet is just a winter day while 1/2" of frz is a risk for big issues.

The question isn't the surface there, it's the 925mb which @MAG5035 has a much better hold on than me. I truthfully could see us getting a nice little glacier going with all 3 types which than flows into colder temps Friday night and more icing than forecast before rain
