Blizzard of 93
Better 0z runs of the GFS & Canadian tonight for next weekend. Emerging High pressure in Ontario is helping to steer the weak low to the south on both models tonight. Hopefully this trend continues tomorrow. Blizzard of 93
6z GFS still has a mix to light snow for a good chunk of CTP on Saturday. Just need the minor northern steam piece to speed up just a bit to get out of the way allowing the developing High in south central Canada to push eastward a little more quickly. The GFS gets it done more so than other models at this point, but the general idea is now there on most models. Hopefully it trends a little better over the next couple of days. If that happens we would have a better chance of a minor Winter event.

The CMC is indicating a similar lack of one strong SLP.

The CMC is indicating a similar lack of one strong SLP. A Miller B scenario is ok as long as the secondary low forms far enough to our south. It all depends on that High to the north. It needs to work in tandem with the low. It can’t be too far back, which would allow the initial low to gain too much latitude for most of CTP for a more Wintry possible outcome.
Itstrainingtime
Hopefully the Eagles can beat the Chiefs. And the Referee...the Umpire...the Field Judge...the Back Judge...the Line Judge...the Down Judge...the Side Judge... I don't complain about officiating. Like hardly ever. I think it's just in bad taste. But when the Line Judge comes running in last night a full yard beyond the line to gain (which, in fairness, Josh Allen did not clear that line by a full yard, but I thought the ball broke the line easily) and ends up "backing up" to JUST behind the line to gain...I've about had enough of Orange-tainted calls. Back to weather. I needed to get that out. 1

Can't wait for some ticky tack illegal man down field to screw the Eagles in two weeks. 1
Mount Joy Snowman
Low of 21. That Saquon run on the Eagle's first play was just.......wow. Congrats to the Birds fans out there. Should be a great Superbowl. National high of 85 near La Puerta, TX and low of -36 at none other than Peter Sinks, UT.

Mount Joy Snowman
We should end the month ~5 degrees BN. In fact, my pen, notepad, and TI-84 Plus tell me we'll end January with a mean temp of 25.7 degrees. This would tie 1895 and 2003 for 21st coldest January all-time. Book it. 2
Itstrainingtime
Other than completely exposed south-facing areas, I still have pretty much solid snow cover. Current depth is 1" in open areas facing south to 4" in sheltered areas. Been some time that I've had continuous snow cover for over a week's time.

ChescoWx
Near normal temperatures to start the week rising to slightly above on Wednesday before chillier again on Thursday. Bubbler86
Later this week, 12Z GFS not getting it done for South PA and a questionable mix for North PA....but one thing to note re: historical records. The rain arrives at MDT on Friday which is still Jan putting the second driest Jan ever rank at risk.
Bubbler86
First week of Feb shaping up quite chilly on the GFS after one day near or slightly an (talking highs). GFS slowly pushes the boundary further and further south as the week wears on...in a very zonal flow. How Chilly? It is snowing in coastal NC on Thursday the 6th.
