Wife’s birthday is a snowy one. Then of course on our way back up the hood the roads started caving as we went up. Assuming we get the moderate accums the models progged and we are hoping for, roads tomorrow are still going to be ugly outside major stuff. High near 20 is not going to promote much melting. Voyager
I'm at 28.4 and yet the snow is having a hard time accumulating even on my Jeep which has not been run yet today. Is it me, or is solar radiation stronger now than it was, say 30+ years ago? I don't remember snow having such a hard time accumulating at sub 30 degree temperatures back in the days of my youth. Down to 32 here now and snow is not laying on anything except grass and trash can. Roofs still wet.

Bubbler86
2 near misses on MR 12Z GFS. This one especially. Op MR so will change but opportunities are going to be there through Jan at least. And this is not directed at you Mitch, just a model comment and to say we still have tracking to do.

The sun's rays are stronger because we just peaked the solar cycle this year and it was incredibly more active than usual. Remember the Northern lights? First time I ever saw them. We're headed back down to a minimum in 12 years, give or take. https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/solar-cycle-progression
