Yes, good thing the up & coming US short range model looks like other guidance.

In the end, imho I  think the Canadians are going to end up being more right than wrong and far superior to other guidance when considering how long they've had held their forecasts.

Definitely the AI is right up there, but because we don't get snowfall forecasts from it, it's harder to compare it to the Canadians.

I’ll take chances with less amplified system because dealing with thermal issues suck.

.

Dealing with thermal issues pales when compared with dealing with Federal Income Taxes and the complicated laws that go along with them!  The wx is my sanity; I'd rather stare at upper air charts and skew-Ts as opposed to what counts as income and what is deductible!

Considering how much of PA is covered by an Extreme Cold Watch, I can't say I recall that product being used before.  Upon further review. as of October 1st:

  • Wind Chill Watches will be renamed to an Extreme Cold Watch
  • Wind Chill Warnings will be renamed to an Extreme Cold Warning
  • Wind Chill Advisory will be renamed a Cold Weather Advisory
  • Thanks 1

I like this change because wind chill is so arbitrary
