I'll take the slow place of Delmarva any day. I very rarely take 95 and have gone 50 to 13 to 64 over the BBT 4 or 5 times. We usually go down Rt. 3 to a left on Rt. 5 at Waldorf, do an end around the rest of Waldorf, make a right on Rt. 418, I think, that takes you to the last traffic light in La Plata, make a left on Rt. 3 and then Rt. 17 to 64 just west of Newport News. It's not the fastest route, but once you get to the last light in La Plata, it's an easy trip until you approach 64 and then once on 64, it's a crap shoot what traffic will be like. Plus, there are plenty of places to stop. When we worked and lived in MD, our weekend getaway trips were usually to Williamsburg, so after going every which way for years, I came up that Rt. 3 to 5 to 17.

canderson
Also more winds Thursday and Friday. Gusts into the mid to upper 30s and constant around 15-20 likely. It’s still in the mid 20s so only one day of “reprieve”.
Yardstickgozinya
I had the craziest dream last night that I was being chased around MD and VA by a bunch of clowns driving motorized hot dog stands . They had confetti cannons, but instead of shooting confetti, they were shooting 312 hour kuchera and surface maps at me.

I was contacted yesterday by a company that can offer me a day shift position with an automatic truck, which I need due to a bad shoulder. My past history is that whenever I start a new job, we get major storm(s).

Itstrainingtime
I have to share this - we give DT a hard time over his First Guess, Second Guess, Educated Guess, Non-Educated Guess, First Call, Second Call and Last Call snow maps. At 2am this morning he introduced a new one - so I'm guessing a Last Call map is actually 2nd from last?

Mount Joy Snowman
Here's a new one, Antelope Creek, ND came in with the national low of -45. Who doesn't love Antelope Creek. I remeber in the 2nd grade I could name every capital city of every state with such ease. My teacher was amazed. Outside of PA, most people dont even know Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are 300 miles apart. And that Philadelphia to Boston is the same 300 miles apart. 1

My claim to fame in school was being able to take a blank map of PA and accurately fill in all 67 counties. As someone who travels to Pittsburgh 1-2 times a year, since I started driving the trip today takes nearly an hour less than 40+ years ago. PA Turnpike speed limit used to be 55 the entire route, today a lot of it is 70 and what's not is mostly 65.
