I maybe totally wrong but I started looking at the 700mb low after what it did in the January storm after @AllWeather post. There really wasn't a single model anywhere that showed what actually occurred back in January. I would hold off of announcing failures until we get a good beat on the 700mb. @ruin you won't be happy unless you move to mamouth mountain or Phoenix. For you it's always going to be all or nothing for anyone.

The only failure when someone posts a definitive statement before a storm happens is the poster themselves.   That is a good point about what happened with that system and N Central PA scoring a coup.   Punxsutawney  has sn+ based on radar right now.

Speaking of the January storm when many of us in the southern tier got caught in the subsidence between the 2 main bands, you can see signs here where the northern band MIGHT be setting up over the LSV with a bit of a gap across northern MD and then the main show farther south. We'll see how this evolves over the next few hours:
