Blizzard of 93
This is something that I have never ever seen in my over 20 years of following weather models closely… The 18z GEFS snow map showing over 14 inches of snow.
Bubbler86
The threats are changing seemingly each run right now so hard to discuss too many specifics outside the next 5 days unless one wants to simply break down model reasons for outcomes.

To clarify, we have seen this amount on an ensemble run a couple of days before a major storm, like in 2010 or 2016. But I have not seen this amount over a 16 day ensemble run period, especially with the first major snowstorm chance being 7 days away. MU is right… Buckle Up!
canderson
It’s too damn quiet in here when we are 24 hours away from starting perhaps the most winter week and a half we’ve had in a long long time.

I don't remember my forecast low, but 24 is my backyard low this morning. Tonight's forecast low is 22, so we'll see. My point forecast did add more ice on top of the 1-2 inches of snow/sleet expected. New numbers as of last check seemed like .1 to .3 ice accretion.

Bubbler86
Noticed some of the mesos have more snow on the east side of the state for tomorrow especially the HRRR. But also more regular rain at the end of the precip. Here is the rgem for 10AM tomorrow and the 6Z HRRR for 6AM tomorrow

Rest up fellas. I'm on a medical leave of absence from work, so in that respect, i want to say "let it rip'. Flip side of that, though, is that my neighbor who used to help me clear snow is one that didn't approve of my going to AZ to help my mom, so now he doesn't help me, so all the snow removal for 2 properties and 3 vehicles is on me. That part makes me wish this wasn't coming.
mahantango#1
Even though the last few days got up to the mid to upper 40's. Last evening close to 5:30 my temp was 36 and the ground was already starting to refreeze. So at least here that ground is still very cold. Got down to 23 overnight here, but was rising overnight till this morning.
