That reminds me, I saw lots of wind reports after 3ish.  I was outside much of the time from 430 to 630 and did not feel one breeze that I can remember.   Guessing you all were feeling effects of the coastal though not sure...but I remembered it because it is normally windier here than surrounding areas.  It was peacefully serene.

Very windy.  I was complete covered in snow from it blowing.

Yes, it was approaching Blizzard conditions at times. Winds were just a little short of official criteria but not by much.

An interesting piece of this storm since it was so calm here.  With the snow buffering sound it was one of the post snow storm moments you do not forget and I am glad it was not windy.  I was sweating from the shoveling.

The 81 corridor did its work today. I’m eager to hear what @CarlislePaWx got down SW of us.

There were no reports from me today because I was in Vermont over the weekend for a wedding of one of my nephews.  Grafton was the small town.  It was beautiful seeing all the frozen creeks covered in snow.  It's been so long since I've seen frozen rivers, etc.  Because I knew the storm was coming I was able to come back from BOS on an earlier flight that got into DCA at 3.45.  Very lucky because it was still raining there as we landed, however, 15 minutes later the change over to snow hit and the snow intensity shot up so quickly.  It was so heavy I couldn't find my car in the extended parking area.  Easily 2"+/hr rates for a time.  I'm staying over with my son in DC and will be driving back to Carlisle tomorrow morning.  Based on my front doorbell camera I can estimate that at least 6" fell at my house.  My snowboard should have a pretty accurate total waiting for me to measure.  The intense rates didn't last all that long in DC, but I was watching a few of those intense bands on radar that passed through Carlisle.  Sorry I missed that excitement.  I'm thrilled for everyone else that ended up with more than expected.  I'm looking forward to dropping below zero on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.  A six-inch snowpack will do wonders combining with radiational cooling.  That coldest temp I have ever recorded in the 24 years I've lived in the Carlisle area is -5 F, which occurred twice at two different homes.  The first time was right after PD II in 2003, and the second time was after the 40" of snow I received during the first week of February of 2010.

I'll be back with my update tomorrow (Monday) afternoon.

I think we ended up somewhere around 8.5-9 here when it was all said and done.

That was enough for me to break 2 shear pins on the snow blower.

My storms are ranked by shear pin breakage.  8-10 inches is a 2 pinner....

I just bought this 30 mins ago …… today broke my “I can shovel anything!” spirit. Hitting 40 sucks ha

I am 56 and I am about to the point I can't do it anymore. Well, I can do it, it just kills me for 3 or 4 days afterwards. All busted up tonight. I have a 28 inch Cub cadet 3X and my driveway and lot is huge. Takes 2-3 hrs.

I’d just pay someone to plow it, honestly. I’d do the same but it’s not with the hassle for the sidewalk and alley I have to handle.

I do, but many times I set around half of the next day waiting on someone to get around to it.

I have a business that uses the driveway. Most of the time I just suck it up and do it myself. Like now.

It's done.

I am 56 as well and did about a quarter mile of driveway this evening with doing my elderly neighbors also.  When you are done the calories burnt feel good though, right?  Haha.  As long a heart healthy.  However, if I ever deal with another 40 incher I will have to be home and take it in pieces or get a friendly neighbor to snow blow it.

What’s the next one? Do we have potential? Not this week just cold and dry. But anything on the horizon? Hate to be like last year where January was our only month of snow. Maybe another Superstorm, we are well overdue for that.

and I’ll admit I have not looked at models this weekend so other than Mitch and Blizz indicating some differences for Feb hope we can still capitalize. Used the snow blower for the first time in a.couple of years today.

Yep calorie burn felt good enough for me to slam down about a dozen wings after I was done.

My body was like wow, we might be net negative calories for the day! Nope! Here comes the wings!

We had 2 measurable snow events last February…

We are not done this year…

Will give credit where credit is due. JB was all over the blend of the Kennedy and Reagan inauguration storm analogs and put out his final map yesterday. Overall he did well on this one5eddf7d0187cae767092978af5276ac0.jpg

.

DC got 8" or so in the Kennedy storm and reported .3" for this one.
