I just now discovered that kmdt had at least 1" of snow on the ground from 1/3/94 till 3/20/94. 76 consecutive days, the longest in station history. I moved to this area in 96. For anyone that was here for it id love to hear any recollections you have. I also find it amazing that in 1996 we had 50 straight days, number seven on the all-time list. It seems like epic winters here love coming in burts

@Chris78 what did you put down for total?  Would not surprise me anywhere between 5 and 6 on the grass

I'm going with 5.75"

I had measured 5.5"

Then that final nice band came through as I was snow blowing.  Added on another .25.

Alot more than I was anticipating around noon today.

Then all he'll broke loose for about 4 hours this afternoon.

I got 6 and 6.25 in more sheltered locations. I guess I'll officially go with 6" at this point unless anything significant falls later. Nice event overall, and some of the heaviest rates I've seen in years.

Now, bring on spring... :P

I can support this after this cold event. I want to feel negative temperatures and then I want warmth.

6.5" total

I had 4.5" at the first shoveling and was very surprised to see another 2" fell afterwards  in those last bands. Looks like another band of lt snow which won't amount to anything.

Fingers crossed there's more in our future.

Gfs with a couple opportunities around day 8/9 and again day 12 or so.

Fantasy land but still nice to see.

5.0 at MDT as of 5 pm update.

.06 more precip fell after 5 pm, so likely close to 1 more inch of snow will be added at the final update.

Yea, I am bumping up too.  I just went out to move my car and three is a good 1/4" on it.  So 5.75 and 4.25 for me now.

You’ll definitely feel them haha. Tomorrow night will be cold enough but I’m still eyeing Tuesday night as the night the bottom might drop out. The latest European for example has Clearfield at -17ºF 7am Wed morning and has been putting out numbers like that persistently as the coldest model also having most of the western half of PA -15ºF or colder.

The reason I think low temps may actually fall to those levels in some non urban areas is because overnight Tues into Wed morning we have a 1040mb high moving into western PA, essentially the “Canadian” High if you will for the insanity about to ensue along the Gulf Coast with the next wave. So that coupled with what is now a fairly expansive snowpack in PA figures to be a good radiational cooling setup and we have a frigid airmass overhead that is in the -20s ºC at 925 and 850mb. Honestly would not be surprised to see a rural station between here and Pittsburgh hit -20ºF if we get the full rad cooling. Probably don’t see temps like that in eastern PA and the Sus Valley but with that new snowpack in place there definitely could be some below zero low temps in the usual cold spots.

6.4 of snow in Marysville.

Lots of drifts in the yard.

Awesome Winter day.

That reminds me, I saw lots of wind reports after 3ish.  I was outside much of the time from 430 to 630 and did not feel one breeze that I can remember.   Guessing you all were feeling effects of the coastal though not sure...but I remembered it because it is normally windier here than surrounding areas.  It was peacefully serene.

Yes, it was approaching Blizzard conditions at times. Winds were just a little short of official criteria but not by much.
