I forget how close you and him are geographically even though I think when you’re in the hills you have 200 feet on him elevation wise? Is it noticeably different? There’s this small ridge on the other side of jacks mountain next to my house (jacks mountain is what it’s called to my knowledge), but then it goes down until you get to the climb towards Blue Ridge summit. They’re at like 1300 right?

They’re at like 1300 right? We have jacked over here plenty but it is from Miller A type storms. Almost all meso model outputs have our (west side of South Mountain) negative bias built in when a system is coming more from the west than the south. Warm Air advections charges up the west side of the mountain chain where as it does not do that on your side.

Been that way for 20+ years now since I was an undergrad there 2005-09. UNV is always too far in any direction for the best snow and just too far E and on the downslope side of the Allegheny Ridge. Nickle and dime city. The average per year is higher than places to the SE but it's nails on a chalkboard to get there. Prepare to be annoyed countless more times. Anyway congrats to the S PA crew that are having a good storm. Hilarious that such a top meteorology school is in such a torturous place for snow.
