When the Earth is closest to the sun, it is travelling faster in its orbit (Keplar's second law for extra brownie points). As such, meteorological winter is roughly 2 days shorter than meteorological summer in the northern hemisphere. Yep. Don’t get me wrong, I still think us southerners are good for at least a few inches but I’m starting to get that eerie feeling. Next 24 hours crucial.
