Gonna say that the meso's are doing a splendid job of trolling snowhounds.

If we can pull tomorrow off, I'll be happy to say that I was wrong and didnt see this being possible, as I expected a notably more norther solution wrt thermal boundary.

verbatim, it gives many in ctp a legit chance of a white christmas (staying power of 1" dependant).

Norther/westers look to be a lock for it.  Congrats as usual.

Sleigh loaded....reindeer are restless.  Have a good one all.

You are not - I don't look past any opponent. I did know who the next game would be against but I tuned out all of the details surrounding it.

I'm not JF's biggest fan but I wholeheartedly subscribe to his "1-0 this week" mentality. As fellow Steelers fans, we have a long history of seeing our team(s) play down (lose) to inferior opponents. And I'm not saying that SMU is inferior, I'm just saying it's one game at a time. The more I read/watch SMU on video the more I'm becoming concerned.

I'm really the same way. The only reason i even thought of it, is all my friends and family gathers at my house. They'll be there saturday for PSU and then the steelers right after, Christmas night 70ish people and now possibly NYE. That my friend is a lot of beer, Cheese and snacks

I am saying SMU is inferior. Their QB holds the ball way too much, their offensive line folds under pressure pretty easily, their secondary is ass. Their run defense is good, but you're going to see Allen and Singleton eat late in the game after Warren eats early and the defense has to pass defend.

Boise State is even more inferior. They're one generational talent who has played nobody but Oregon, whose run defense sucks ass.

On paper, Penn State should cruise to the semifinal where I think Indiana awaits them. Indiana is going to throw for miles on ND and Georgia has no QB nor kicker. I think this half of the bracket is State and Indiana for the taking.

SMU will be faster than Penn State and their QB throws a better mid range and deep ball than Allar.

But they'll have no real answer for the TE. I assume they win 31-17 or something.

But if PSU is looking ahead to next week, they'll lose. SMU is a damn good football team - this isn't the SMU we all think of anymore.

Can't wait until we blast Texas into outer space! :D

I concur with this thought, SMU's QB is very good, they have a good running back and are just a fast team over all.  If it were snowing/raining that would definitely hamper them but sunny and 30 will not.    Does not mean they are not stomped but they are one of the best teams in the country.   White out may un-nerve them.

This is the part that scares me the most.

I get it. There's that part of me that thinks this will be just like any other time but here's the thing and this isn't just me saying it. This is Joel Klatt saying it. This is Josh Pate saying it. This is most of the talking heads in the country saying it.

Penn State almost *never* loses games they're supposed to win. The only teams that beat them are teams that are just better. Ohio State this year was picked by almost everyone to win the CFP. Oregon was picked by almost everyone to be a playoff team. Michigan last year was picked by almost everyone to get to the playoffs. The only other times they lose are to SEC teams in bowl games where PSU has a lot of opt-outs. Aside from that, they almost always win. And even this year, both of those losses were winnable. Allar makes a better read before that last interception against Oregon and maybe we're not even having this conversation. Kotelnicki doesn't try to get cute against Ohio State and they probably win that game. The losses this year have been closer and different.

Because of that, and the way this team didn't fold against USC, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, that makes me believe it's going to take a lot to get past this team.

And Southern Methodist ain't it.

ITT maintains D2

Northeast Drought Summary

Temperatures were near normal over most of the region with most places being a couple of degrees above or below normal for the week. The warmest readings in the region were in eastern Maine with departures of 3-6 degrees above normal. Almost the entire region recorded over 100% of normal precipitation for the week with only portions of western Pennsylvania and western New York right at normal. The greatest departures were in portions of southwest Virginia and into New England where over 300% of normal precipitation was observed. With the pattern being wetter recently, improvements were made in much of the region. Extreme drought was removed from Massachusetts while moderate and severe drought and some abnormally dry conditions improved in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. Even with the good week of precipitation, some long-term indicators were still lagging and didn’t have the complete response to show even more improvement

Interesting graphic. Lebanon County averages around 44” of rainfall per year and my weather station is at 43.27”. So if being roughly 3/4” behind normal is considered “severe drought”…OK thencdb31f48113fdef88be0deeb45fd5456.jpg

But the fall was exceptionally dry, hence the drought designation.

If my favorite sports team was 50-25, most would say they were having a great year. But if they were 50-10 and then lost 15 in a row, I don't think anyone would argue that they weren't in a major slump.

I think precip works the same way.

Some droughts have little to do with yearly totals. A drought can come in in the matter of a month or two depending on soil moisture and ground water.   If we got 200% of rain in the winter and almost no rain in the summer we would be in severe drought despite being above normal for the year.   There are also Short and Long term drought2.
