Definitely because of the positioning. Protected a bit from the advection on this side of the ridges near Liberty. Still moderate snow.

Yes, just 10 min to my east stays snow a lot longer.  You have fortifications.  I have a direct path from Waynesboro VA into Waynesboro PA.

We are out here in the great town of Lisbern . It really is a beautiful town ,Such great people . You know it really  dose  have the most beautiful snow flakes if you really look. Big flakes Huge flakes. Together we will bring the snow back here where it belongs and quit sending it to other places that keep ripping us off. God bless America and  God bless snow .

At 6:00pm here in Carlisle it is snowing moderately with fatter flakes reappearing.  The temperature has risen from 30.0 2 hours ago to 30.9 degrees.  At 5:00 I had recorded 0.9" of snow for the storm total.  As of 6:00 an additional 0.3" has accumulated, producing a storm total of 1.2".  The models that had been insistent on there being accumulating snow as far east as MDT have turned out to be the winners.  CTP played catch-up again.  Remember, the HRRR from this morning was showing a radar depiction of heavy snow over nearly all of our region at 7:00pm.  Should be interesting to see what happens in the next several hours.
