12z GFS says what rain to snow? :weep:

Queues up Bryan Adams..."cuts like a knife".

As suggested earlier, the reshuffle is gonna need to reshuffle before we can get something more than backdoor cold fronts....until then...meh.

A tidbit of hope is that I was parsing over the Enso thread earlier to see how things have evolved in the last few weeks, and I'm not at all terrified by what I read.

But with MJO heading into maritime phases, neg AO w/ slightly +pna still has a zonalish look to it.  Oh and the NAO notably + doesnt help either.  Just sharing what i see and what me thinks we have to look forward to in next couple weeks.  Hoping I'm way off my rocker...

The one thing I will say about the GFS is that we never go full on frontal torch.  May get into the 60's next week but shallow troughs keep rolling through and cooling down the area so that the eb and flow of the ridges coming through do not make it too warm.    With that said, this look is not cold in my definition so lots of 40's and 50's for highs.    Getting literal there is only one day (after today) that MDT stays below 40 through Dec 20th.

Yeah we can probably close the books on Cold Snowy Weather for December.

What a frigid first week of December at MDT.
-7.2 month to date below normal with an average temperature of 31.6.

I would love to see some stats on where this ranks for the first week of December in Harrisburg recorded history.

If only TCC would bother to look into cold stats…I’m sure DuBois has had a cold start to the month as well…

This is AI generated.  I expect two days of 57-62ish with one of those coming early in the day...a MJS overnight high.
