From our great friendly friend DT.

THIS WEEK IN WEATHER
final Winter Forecast
https://youtu.be/KUfeNkTiP60

I'm too tired to channel Tolleris Gottfried this morning and I got a new phone last Friday and they didn't have any cases for it and the phone is slicker than a toddler's nose during the Christmas play and I've fumbled this goddamned thing a hundred times already typing, so even trying to address this would probably just result in a Google Pixel 9-sized hole in my work monitor.

Coincidentally, the Google Pixel 9-sized hole is about the same as what Nanny's axe wound looks like after the dog laying in the snow finishes up.

It's a good discussion from him. So all the talk of a mild winter might be in question.

haha what a damn joke temps were said to be in the low 30s tonight but temps rose up and what ever bit of precip we got tonight was just rain haha. this is sad so called artic front wont even do jack for temps are suppose to be near 40 again next 2 days

My P&C highs for the next three days are 35, 33, and 36, which are all double digit BN.

Which I have kind of felt for a while. I've mentioned it on here but my animals are putting on weight like they've got congestive heart failure and my one cat in particular has grown a much different, thicker, fluffier winter coat than he has in the past.

I know that's in no way scientific evidence of a less torchy winter, but it's weird. I didn't watch 14lb bags of kibble disappear in a week the last few winters.

Right now I wouldn't be shocked if the entire winter ended up BN.

MDT struck a 42 already today, FWIW.    Surprisingly high.

Yeah I mentioned the midnight high a couple posts above.  I was more or less responding to his general moaning about 40 degree temps the next few days, which seems dubious.  I probably shouldn't have responded at all haha.

I was just surprised they reached that high.   His claim of 40's the next two days is dubious indeed.

Following the frontal passage this morning any flurries or squalls will end. Temperatures will fall below freezing by late morning in most areas and continue to slowly fall into the 20's in most spots by 4pm. Winds could gust as high as 45mph and cause some power outages in the usual suspect spots (like mine). Tomorrow may be our first sub-freezing day of the season with highs not reaching freezing. We start a nice warming trend over the weekend that should last through mid-week before we chill down again by later next week. We may have several rain chances Monday through Wednesday.

National high of only 83 in Palm Springs, CA.  Low of -17 in 'ol relibale Peter Sinks, UT.

Can any of my fellow Lancaster peeps (@Itstrainingtime, @Superstorm, the Fox guy whose handle I forget who lives on Chiques Ridge, or anyone else I may be forgetting) confirm if the stuff that fell during the predawn hours today was snow, rain, or some mix thereof?  Thanks!

Low of 35 here, which is the current temp.  Looks like a midnight high type scenario today.  .01" of total precip and I have no idea what it fell as but there is no evidence of any type of accumulation.  Congrats to those making out.

Finally back from my trip up north.  Hi temp observed in a 5.5 day trip was 27 and low was 17.  Arrived w/ 4" otg and snowed every day.  We left w/ 6" otg, with 2-4" addl being called for w/ current event.

Fantastic trip w/ fam/friends.  Was nice to see/feel winter.  Good luck to all today.

Coming down again here but getting bright. The first car topper in the books!

Nothing at all in Akron/Ephrata.  On way into office early this AM, north of Lititz in the hamlet of Elm, was "big" winner with slightly more than cartopper, as some slush was evident on back roads.  Here in etown, barely a dusting.

I was thinking about you, wondering how you made out. Glad you're back safely and had a great time.
