It’s been cold. And while we complain about lack of snow, at least it feels like winter. And early in the season at that. I’ll take cold and dry over wet and warm any day. Currently 21 here in Hamilton.

I don't know about wet but warm is definitely coming lol.

Taking puppy out at 7 and feeling the 23 temp and high clouds made me reminisce about 22 years ago today when we had the same conditions, except we had a WSW for 5-8" area-wide for the next day which delivered.  Started a string of great December 5ths!

13.0 for the low (no record, 10 in 2000), high was 31.7 (again no record, 30 in 1989). Chilly, breezy yesterday during day. Mostly clear and calm overnight.  Currently 13.8/11.8 at 8 am.

Ice has been forming on the swamp and the South River, since (I first noticed) on Sunday morning. The ice appears thin, but the swamp is now fully covered, and the River I estimate at about 85% ice covered. (It's tidal)

Looks like "maybe" some sunshine during the midday before the next round of clouds hot on its heels.  Looks like predominantly cold/dry/clouds/wind incoming later...congrats to upslope areas, though.  I'm ready for that weekend weather.

Same thing here...although its a tad warmer at 25. Are you expecting much out of the system tonight?

As I thought that  area down there has exploded with moisture and has a more northerly move to it now.  This source region  brings surprises.snd good results  I have bagged all models as to low pressure olacement. NWS should try NHC methods and talks of “discreet” problems is just excuse making. Also  do not see any blues up in our cold source region so no warm up thru At least 12/15.  Radars and satellite and water vapor and no more than 5 days out, three really, is the way to treat the examples.  I prefer predictions .

...POTENTIAL WINTER COMMUTING HAZARD FOR THE FAR NORTHWEST SUBURBS OF BALTIMORE / WASHINGTON THURSDAY MORNING...

There is a potential for hazardous commuting conditions for the Thursday morning commute. A period of snow showers or squalls is POSSIBLE (a 50 percent chance) Thursday morning across the far northwest suburbs of Baltimore / Washington, especially over higher elevations such as Parr's Ridge and the Catoctin Mountains where up to around an inch of snow accumulation is possible on area roads.

If this threat does materialize during the Thursday morning rush- hour, many roads could quickly turn icy. This could lead to dangerous traveling conditions, multiple accidents, and extensive delays.

If commuting Thursday morning, be aware of the POSSIBILITY of significant travel disruptions. Plan ahead by allowing for extra travel time, and consider using public transportation and telework options.

Up to 26.6/16.2 at 12:30 pm here. NWS playing the 'catch-up game', already lowered high from 40 to 37, which is likely still a bit high IMO. The 'point and click' just says flurries and snow showers, nothing about accumulation. Just west has an inch so maybe we get at least a white ground lol. The high winds and temps are what they are harping on, 26 low for tonight (where we are now) and then falling rest of the day to around 20 by 5 pm with 40-55 mph winds.
