A few flurries are blowing around this morning.  This is the ninth day this month with some amount of flakes here.

The temp gradient between the northern third of this sub, the middle third, and the southern third must have been substantial. Lots of lows in the teens just to the north and mostly 20s down here.

Low of 18. There was skim ice over most of the river surface near me this morning but it's all gone now.

I was wondering about that too, and it seemed to be more NW/SE oriented.  Probably a combination of a normal temperature gradient and a bit of cloudiness over northern VA.

Yeah. That NW to SE oriented band of clouds kept temps up in northern VA. 

IAD only bottomed out at 25F.

Not likely that IAD number is correct. 

ETA: yeah DCA claims 26f. Can anyone remember a cold night when DCA wasn't at least 7 warmer than IAD?
